Need some encouragement please
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. Man oh man, I just don't know what I would do without all of you guys! It seems as though when one of us is down, the others know just what to say. It's almost as if only one of us is allowed to be down on any given day so that the rest of us can be there to pick up the slack! I think that the WLS gods are smiling on the May babies for sure!
Heather,
Don't beat yourself up. You really aren't doing that bad. Everyone plateaus.
Personally, I would eliminate some of the carbs and replace them with higher protein foods or combination foods. For me, I like eating protein bars for snacks. For lunch, maybe have some sliced Fat Free Turkey and some low fat or fat free cheese. Peanuts and Peanut Butter have a lot of fat in them and are not the best source of protein, so maybe substitue that with a protein shake for your snack or breakfast. I have been drinking a low carb yogurt smoothie for breakfast lately and it is really good.
For my munchy cravings I eat Roasted Soy Nuts from Trader Joe's, and I eat Low Fat Beef Jerkey, and I bought some Soy Chips here on OH from their Store. Other than that all my foods are chicken, fat free or low fat cheese, eggs, protein drinks and protein bars, and yogurt. Then I'll have the occasional fruit or salad but I try and follow the rule of 3 bites of protein for every 1 bite of carbs.
Hang in there and you'll do fine.
Deanna
Just to update everyone......after all of your encouragement, today has changed around for me. Here are my stats so far:
Breakfast - Half of a biscuit with some sausage gravy (OK, obviously the encouragement wasn't working yet...however, the day has gotten DRASTICALLY better)
Lunch - 3 oz of tuna with some crackers
Snack - Protein shake ( I still hate these, but oh well, I just had to suck it up)
My totals so far today are: 696 calories, 28g fat, 56g carbs, 55g protein
If I had not falling and eat that half of a biscuit and gravy, the totals would have been: 481 calories, 17g fat, 34g carbs, 48g protein
I pretty proud of myself. Thanks to everyone for there encouragement and for saving my seat on the May train!
