Update: Three Month Checkup!

Hi again! Thanks for all the responses and support. I was ready to freak out, but I saw my nutritionist today, and she offered some great insight. With all of the focus on my new pouch-buddy, I'd totally forgotten about the malabsorption component of my surgery. And I'm distal (over 150cm bypassed), so malabsorption is even more of an issue. What is it Susan Maria's always saying? It's not what you take, it's what you absorb! Well, my body hasn't been absorbing the massive doses of protein I've been giving it. Her solution, like many of you said, is for me to eat smaller doses (10g) at various times throughout the day. She checked my food diary and told me that I'm not eating enough, either. If I can't eat a cup of food in a meal, then I need mini-meals of 1/2 cup so I get the same nutrients. Otherwise, I'll almost certainly go into "starvation-mode". I just wanted to come back and thank you all for helping me out! It's so frustrating to do all "the right stuff" then find out that it's wrong for YOU. Thanks for talking me down. Tiffany, I'm glad you got some answers and some reassurance. I know how nerve wracking it can be when you don't know for sure what's going on... Becky

Hey Tiffany, Glad you got some peice of mind. Its great to speak to the nut after the doc, so that way maybe we can get some sort of balance. I saw my nutritionist last week, and she was able to confirm that I need 800-1000 cal a day, yada yada
