May Buddies Check In
Ana,
Wow, I have been so obsessed with getting to Onederland, I didn't even think about the Century Club! Now I have another goal to keep track of!
You are doing fantastic too. I took tons of before pics in my bra and panties, (nothing I'm ready to share) but it will forever be a reminder of where I came from and where I know I'll never be again.
Keep up the good work and you'll soon be at goal!

I had surgery 11 weeks ago. The week before surgery, I was 326.5, but my highest was 330+ (I maxed out the home scale, which stops at 330. ) After 11 weeks, I've lost 58 pounds--I'm at 268.5. I see my Dr. tomorrow for my three month check up--we'll see how I do on his scale.
I've been at the same weight for a week now--my head knows that my body needs time to adjust, but I want to lose the weight NOW! (Or, as you may remember Veruca Salt say in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, "I want a golden ticket, NOW, daddy!!")
Focusing on the good--Since surgery, I've lost all the swelling in my legs, have dropped from 28/30/4x to 22/24 in pants and 1x/2x tops, and have been able to sleep quieter and go to the bathroom without the toilet-paper olympics (because is there ANYTHING more disheartening than having to use the handicap railings in the bathroom to brace yourself to reach around your *huge* arse? I think no.).
Exercise is fun now! I go to curves 3-4 times a week, and bike to and from work (which none of my "regular sized" collegues can believe!).
Overall, I feel better and more positive and can't wait for the scale to start moving again!

Hi Jem,
Oh girl, you crack me up! I can so relate to the "Toilet Paper Olympics"!! It is nice to be able to easily take care of those personal hygiene issues, isn't it?
You are doing wonderful and keep up with the exercise - That is fantastic!
Sounds like we are right in line with each other almost.

Hi everyone! I am new to the board too. I had my surgery on May 23 and have been so slow at losing. My beginning was 303 and down to 262. I didn't lose anything for almost 4 weeks then weighed myself this morning and had dropped 7 pounds since Tuesday. I have upped my exercise to 5 days a week and am usually getting in 40-50 grams protein so I know I need to up my protein. You are all doing so awesome- I loved to read your posts and hear how you are each doing. Your all very inspiring.I have had an unremarkable 10 weeks- no vomiting, no strictures only a little nausea. I have been very stressed tho- my husband just left on Wednesday for his second deployment to Iraq. He's retired military but works for the US government so has been deployed just as if he were active duty and it makes me worry for him. I am a stress eater so am trying to deal with all of this and still try to eat right. Any suggestions? Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening
Sharon
Sharon,
Congratulations on your weight loss so far. You are doing a great job.
I'm sorry your husband is gone, I will keep him in my prayers. Try to exercise or do something like a jigsaw puzzle when you are stressed or worried. If you must munch, try things like Roasted Soy Nuts or Beef Jerkey.
The weight will plateau and then start falling off again, not worry. Sounds like your plateau is over for now.
Keep up the good work!

Hi May People,
I started out at 370 and the scale checks me in at 290 this morning, That's a total of 80 lbs since 5/23/05. It's really amazing how the weight just seems to drop off. I will go sometimes for a week with nothing at all and then BAMM! 5 lbs drops off

Hello-
I had my WLS on May 13th 2005. So far as of today I have lost 47 lbs! I weigh 184 lbs. Oh yea! The hardest thing for me is protein. Since I don't drink shakes ( I know I'm supposed to) I get all mine in by eating. I can fit back into my clothes I wore when I first got married! As for now my attitude is good! Excited that I have lost so much and I know w/God's help will lose the rest!
