May Buddies Check In
Laurie,
Congratulations on being in Onederland!!! I know the road to get there hasn't been easy, and I am so sorry to hear about your post op complications.
I have heard from lots of people that their tastes changed after surgery, so I think that is quite common.
Hopefully as time goes by, your body will be able to tolerate more foods and you'll have less
Congratulations on your success so far!
Deanna

What a great post, I want to check in to.....
Like all of you, I am proud of myself.
I lost 50 pounds before surgery and hit the 50 mark after surgery yesterday. So I have lost a total of.....
100 pounds.
Wow, never thought that would happen. Of course I still have 100 more to lose but I feel great and have only had a few problems when introducing new foods.
To all of you that are at a stall. I have not had one but when I went to the docs for my last check up he suggested that my weight loss would slow. I have been waiting for that to happen. At about the same time I started doing some weight lifting and if anything, my weight loss seems to be quicker. If you are at a stall you might want to try adding some weights to your workout.
Good luck to all.
Hi everyone. I was 370 lbs. prior to surgery on May 10. I've lost a total of 95 lbs. (30 of that was pre-op) I am down to 275 lbs. I went from a size 5x-6x to a 30 jean. ( I haven't been able to wear jeans in over 4 years!!!! It was a wonderful day when I got them on!!!!) (I can get the 28's on, but are a little tight) I wear size 3x shirts. (Some 2x are starting to fit also.) I am feeling wonderful!!!
I had a stricture at 3 weeks postop. They had to dialate it twice. Other than that, everything is great.
I love the May message board. I find it very interesting and helpful.

370/275/goal is 150!!!!!
This is a great post Deanna! I had my surgery May 11th, I was at 390 I am now down unoffically (doc visit is next Thursday) to 328, for a total of 62lbs! I was in a 28 jean and can now get back into my 24's! I actually felt and saw my collar bone today too, now I know what everyone was talking about!

Wow, you're doing great!!!! Only about 30 pounds and you'll be in the century club. I'm doing wonderful. I had my 3 month check up. I've gone down from 221 to 168. I was pushing a size 20 and now I'm a 14 and an occasional 12. When I feel like I'm struggling or having very little loss I take a look at my before pics in a bikini (yeah all 221 pounds of me in that thing) and I look at the newer monthly pics in the same swim suit and I'm amazed.
Everything I eat agrees with me. My doc has cleared me to try all kinds of foods and he said there are really no big no-no's on the list. HOwever, I must get all my protein in before I even think of putting something in my mouth. But I honestly haven't even tried anything. I"m sticking to my regular diet and I won't venture out on a lot of carbs or sweets.
Oh, I'm a scale ***** too!!! I must weigh every other day. It's not that I expect the scale to go down daily, but I like that it doesn't go up. It's a reassurance to myself I'm doing something right.
Thanks for posting!
Ana
