May Buddies Check In
Hi Everyone! I just thought it would be nice if we all took a moment to give an update or status report on how we are doing. How has your weight loss been? What has been the hardest thing for you so far? What has changed for you since surgery? How are you feeling overall?
For me, I started my WLS Journey in November at 322. I had surgery on May 10th and was 297 the morning of surgery. Today I am 253. That is 69 pounds gone forever!!!!
The hardest thing for me has been remembering to eat I never feel hunger and I get busy and just forget to eat. I don't miss foods at all, I'v learned how to order when at restaurants. I can't eat fats or sugars because I get sick, but that is totally ok with me.
So much has changed since my surgery. The biggest thing that is changing is my self esteem. I just feel good, and happy all the time. I am more playful with my husband and kids, and just happier at work. I have gone from a size 30/32 to a 22/24. I can now buy clothes off the rack at Walmart and I love it. I have energy, I enjoy exercise, and I have absolutely no regrets, except maybe that I didn't do this surgery years ago!
I can now fit into my husband's clothing. I have 3 pounds to go until I match the weight on my drivers license .
Well that is it for me. 3 Months Post op and feeling good. I cannot wait to see where I am in 3 more months!
Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing.

322/253/160 someday
Deanna,
Great post! You are doing awesome!
Well, I started out day of surgery at 339.6 and now I am at 290 on my home scale. I see my doctor on 8/24 for the official weigh in! So I guess I have lost about 50 lbs....
I feel great! Have ALOT more energy... and I am glad I did this! '
I suffer with head hunger.. and still want to eat.. however I'm not hungry for the most part. I guess I will battle this issue for the rest of my life.
Hugs!
Marla
Hi Marla,
I have my 3 month appointment on the 19th. I can't wait to see the official results on their scale.
I also have "head hunger" but I can deal with that, it isn't too bad. I am just amazed that I never feel real hunger - ever. It is so awesome and it cracks me up when I realize I am just not hungry. I love it!
Congratulations on the 50 pounds, that is so awesome.

Ok People - so far, with the 4 people that have posted
THE TOTAL WEIGHT LOST FOR MAY 2005 BOARD MEMBERS IS.....
248.50 POUNDS!!! That is like two skinny people! Or for my kids that is 6 kids!!!!
That is amazing! Let's see how high we can get that number. We need more posts!
They do this on the November Board and it is amazing to see how much combined weight they have lost.
So please post your numbers!

Hello Fellow May-ers!!
I am 11 weeks post op, I had my surgery on May 17th, 2005. The morning of surgery I weighed 310lbs. This morning when I weighed myself I weighed 243, 67lbs gone forever!!!!
I'm also off my migrane and pain meds, have been since 3 days after surgery!!
I've met my first mini-goal, which was to wear a pair of size 18 jeans (my absolute favorite jeans in the world) which I haven't been able to wear in 5 years!!!!!!
I've also gone from a size 26/28 pants & 3-4X shirts to a size 18/20 pant and 1X or XL shirt!!!!
So exciting!!!
Congrats to everyone else who is doing so very well!!!
