May Meet & Greet Update

Ok everyone, Based on the responses, we deceided to go with New Orleans as our meeting place (its centrally located and alot of fun!) I have contacted the Sheraton there, I stayed there in Jan 2004 and it was great! It is very close to the French Quarter as well as Bourbon Street. It is also a decent walking distance from the Mall and the Football Stadium. They also have the most awesome beds ever, my co-workers and I still talk about them! For more info on the hotel http://www.sheratonneworleans.com/. For any Starbuck junkies (like me) there is one right in the hotel! She is sending me a contract to reserve a block of 10 rooms, our rate will be $179 a night (a good rate for that area this time of year). The only weekend we could get in November was staying the night of the 18th & 19th departing on Sunday the 20th. When you book your room you will call 540-525-2500 and tell them your with the OH Mayer's group. I have not signed the contract yet, I wanted to get an idea of who thought they would be able to attend. I am not under any obligation unless we cancel the whole block all together. As far as airfare, I always use Priceline for my vacations, you cant pick exact times but you usually get a fantastic deal on your rates. The lady at the hotel said cab fare from the airport is $28 for up to 2 people or they have a airport shuttle for $13. Please post below and let me know if you can make it, I will try to get the contract signed today or tomorrow so everyone can start booking their rooms and budgeting for the trip. Cary, this sounds like so much fun! I'm not going to commit yet, but I'm going to talk to DH and see if he's okay with it (I'm sure he will be, but still...) Also - if anyone is interested in sharing a room with double beds, I'd be willing, I'm always looking to save money!

man! I wish I could go but I will be in North Carolina visiting my sister. She was here for my surgery and hasn't seen me since and I am excited about her seeing my progress. She had the surgery 3 years ago and I remember when I first saw her I about cried!!! You guys have loads of fun and most important, someone take lots of pictures so we can feel like we were there!

I wish I could go! Hubby is taking a trip in Oct. or Nov. to visit his sick grandmother in GA then my whole family (hubby, me, and 2 kids) are visiting my family in AZ in February and taking a trek over to Disneyland so I won't be able to make it. Michelle

I'm in So. Cal, I think that would be too far for me to go for a weekend, but it sounds like a blast!

Candice, We tried to pick a central location since people are coming from all across the country, my friend who lives in LA (CA that is) is thinking about coming so I think you should too! I understand if its too far, but it would be great if you could make it! Cary
