Back on the Bandwagon!

Well, I haven't had the most ideal week. I've been on a stall for the last week and a half, which is okay, I know they happen, but I also haven't been as diligent as I typically am. Over the last week, I've averaged no more than 500 calories a day, a couple days were down in the 250s, and my protien, which is usually around 70g has been lucky to hit 50, and THAT'S only if the last thing I do before I go to bed is drink a quick shake, which isn't something I should do anyway, taking something like that in right before I go to bed. I've been taking most of my vits, but haven't been very good about my evening calcium. I've also been less than perfect about my water. This weekend, while I didn't really eat anything I SHOULDN'T have, my eating schedule was poor (not eating until 11am, eating late, etc.) because my DH and I were having such a good time by ourselves! I also went to the gym only one time last week. So, to make a long rambling longer.... I'm back on the wagon today. Drank 8oz before I left the house. Took all my vits, am committed to taking my calcium this evening. Had yogurt for breakfast a slice of turkey and cheese for lunch. Got in 25 oz of fluid so far as well as 36 g of protien. I'm going to the gym right from work so there's no excuse. I will KILL THIS STALL!!!

I'm glad you're back on, I think we all go through periods of being on top of it and others of slacking off. Good for you.

Yeah UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, so much for the darn bandwagon, I just ate 10 munchkins thinking I could eat just 3. Can't beat myself up. Headed to the gym, and looking on the bright side-protein, fluid and vitamin goals met. Tommorow is a better daY

I'm glad to see honest posts like this. Makes me feel like I can come here and tell you guys anything. I was soooo bad about exercising last week. Just didn't want to do it at all. I used every excuse in the book. I've also been stalled for about 10 days now. It's finally kicking back into gear this week. I've lost the water weight I was carrying, so I'm back down to where I was beforehand. Now we'll see where things go from here. My energy is picking back up, and I'm doing better with my protein and water too. Becky, with the calcium thing....I read on the main messageboard that the body absorbs it better if it's taken in the morning. I've heard several people saying that they take their calcium in the AM and vitamins in the PM because of that. So, I started flip-flopping mine around this weekend. We'll see if it makes a difference. Actually, maybe I will never SEE a difference. I'll just hope it makes a difference. Julie

I've never heard about the different times a day, although I know I have to take it separately from my iron which is in my multi. The problem is, I've ALSO been told that you really can't absorb more than 500 (whatever the measurement is for calcium is) of calcium at one time, and I have to take 1000, so I take: AM: 500 Calcium, 1000 Biotin and B12 Lunch: 2 Multis with Iron Evening: 500 Calcium I'll have to ask my Nut about it when I go in next week. I'll let you know what she says! Becky

I'd appreciate it, because I'm really curious. I only take my B-12 once per week (sublingual). Hmmm....makes me wonder. I didn't know about separating the calcium doses for digestive purposes either. I'm really gonna have to get with my doc on this. Thanks! Julie

Actually, I only HAVE to take my B12 weekly, but I take it daily during the work week, so I don't have to think about it. Being water soluble, your body flushes whatever it doesn't need...

I think all of us sometime**** that "new routine fatigue" and let things doddle a bit. Its okay, so long as we don't let it last very long and get back on the horse, just as you did.
