So, I have a problem I thought I would never face. Not eating enough! In a prior post several people suggested to me, as has my doctor to up the calories. The problem is I just can't eat more than I already do without getting sick. I try to stick to only 3 meals a day and two shakes. (500-550 cal.) I need to try up this to 700. I am looking for ways to do this without eating more or increasing fat and starches. I really watch the both of those plus my sugars. I find that by the time I eat my protein. (meat) I am absolutely full and can't get down another bite. Pleassssssssssssse help, give me some suggestions on things to eat that are higher in caloric value. I eat now 4-5 shrimp, 2.5oz chicken, 3 oz (if I am lucky) pork tenderloin, 2.5 oz of tuna, 2.5 oz ground ground beef. (I was eating eggs but now they only ever come up.) I eat lots of lite yogurt, string skim cheese, parmasean cheese (up the calories), and cottage cheese. That's my diet. HELP!!!! ---Sabrina

I too can't eat much at one sitting so I have to eat more often than the 3 meals. And when I do snack I just try to make it protein or fruit. That is the only advise I can give but it seems to help me. Patti

Sabrina, Sometimes, I add a large glass of 2% milk in the evenings, maybe 10-12 oz, if I think my caloric level is low for the day. Granted, it will add to your carbs a little, but it's also got a gram of protein for every oz. 8oz of milk is 122 calories, 5 fat, 12 carbs and 8 g of protein.

How about a protein drink? They are anywhere from 150-300 calories/drink depending on which powder and/or amount you use. Michelle

Hi Sabrina, I started adding walnuts, and sunflower seeds, and crumbled blue cheese or feta cheese, and a bit of dried fruit to my salads.....also, a tablespoon of peanut butter in shakes.....these things are higher in calories. Hope this helps a bit. Janean
