How are you guys doing on the energy side of things? Before my period (I know TMI - too much information) I am wiped. I could sleep all day and also alot more pain. They say the estrogen in our fat cells that we are loosing so quickly are in an uproar and we feel it more. Sorry guys, don't mean to get on that topic but some of us females do feel this. But overall in general I have good days and bad days. But w/ every day it is getting better and better. I sincerely feel that the water aquatics I am doing is helping. Exercise can only do us good. Let me know how all you guys are feeling. Hugs to ya all ... Terrylyn

Terrylyn, I have to say I have more energy than I can ever recall in my adult life! That's been true since the third week after my surgery. I gain more and more energy as I lose more weight, but it's amazing. That's been the best thing about this surgery for me. I feel so much more energetic and others have told me they can see it in my eyes. This whole experience has been quite a blessing! ~Wanda

Wanda - That is great about your energy and how people can see the relief in your eyes. What a blessing! Enjoy the new you! The best is yet to come. Ya know it is amazing how much better my body moves around without 54 lbs that I have been used to lug. My knees are great and since I am in less pain I know I have the energy to move and bend but ... I still don't have the ZOOM in me. Congrats again on finding energy! Hugs ... Terrylyn

Terrylyn~ I could've written your post myself! My cramps are bad, especially since there's little medicinal relief now. It does impede my ability to exercise. I do my walking, but my gym exercises are a big NOT! during my period. I just don't seem to have the energy, interest, or even ability to get it done. I feel so weak and drained during those days (in this month's case, weeks). Very frustrating. Thanks for posting! Julie

Hey Julie - I feel ya about the feeling weak and drained. Ya think it will pass and this is just something for now because of what our bodies are going thru? The other girls that posted to this post are going to compare notes when they go to the doctor about this. Let me know if you find relief or a remedy. In the mean time we'll be thankful for all the new and wonderful things we can do and how wonderful we are looking. Have fun and good luck with the monthly! Hugs to ya ... Terrylyn

I'm glad you brought this up because to be honest, my energy level is not any different than pre-op. Some days are better than others, but that's the way it was pre-op, too. I, like you, get totally wiped out just before and during the 1st couple of days of my period. I do have to admit, when I'm working out, the energy level is a bit better, but nowhere near where I thought it would be at this stage. At first I blamed it on, "Well, I just had major surgery, my body is adjusting, I'm not eating many calories...", etc. But now that I'm 3 months out, I've NOT just had major surgery, my body may still be adjusting, but I'm eating anywhere between 800-1000 calories/day. I am taking my multi-vitamin, iron, calcium, and 5000mcg of B-12 3 times/week. I dunno - I just still don't have a great deal of energy. Michelle

I'm with you on this one. My energy level has improved since surgery, but it's still not quite where I hoped it would be by now. My next appointment with my Dr. is 8/25, but I will ask about that and let you know what he says.

Hi Michelle - Can you believe how crummy and tired ya get before and during. OMG ... I don't know my body in that aspect. My pillow always looks good. smile. I am hoping this is just a phase because of what our bodies are going thru. Like the other girls posted to this post that they are going to ask the doc and compare notes you can bet this is a question on the top of my list. Good luck with the energy level and let's just keep pushing each other because we have so many wonderful things new in our lifes to look forward to. Hugs to ya ... Terrylyn
