Howdy all you Mayers and what did you have for breakfast this morning? I don't know about you guys but, I have a hard time to just wake up and start eating. I drink a tea with my vitamins and then I gotta hit the road - CHARGE ... I'm off and running and sometimes I don't get breakfast in. Bad girl! Can you please hand over those ideas. I need some quick ideas. I am tired of protein bars. Do you prepare things the nite before? What are you guys eating? What do you take to work with you or eat in the car on the way to work or whereever you go when you are rushed in the morning? My ideas: hard boiled egg, protein drink w/ banana (but by the time I am hungry the drink looks yucky), Power Crunch Bar (expensive to eat one every day), piece of turkey in a baggie (hold the rolled up turkey with baggie not touching the meat while trying to drive - not good.) Have fun and keep feeling good with our new attitudes and bodies! We all deserve and Keep it up Mayers!

Do you have a refrigerator at work that you could leave stuff in for when you get to work in the a.m.? Boiled eggs would work, or protein bars (but you said you're sick of them). Cook up a bunch of bacon and put it in individual zip lock bags then just nuke it in the a.m. Or some of those protein balls that people talk about on the main board. I think it's pb, oatmeal, sf honey, and something else, I don't remember. I wrote the recipe down somewhere, LOL! Michelle

Hey, I'm always in a hurry too, and unless I am specifically going out for breakfast, I'll do a protein drink...

I eat a soy sausage pattie (Morningstar Farms) with an ounce of LF cheese every morning. It takes a minute in the microwave, it's 18g of protein, and it tastes delicious. I am not a morning person and I wasn't a breakfast person, but this has been just another instance of "Old Jem" vs. "New Jem". Old Jem would stay up as late as possible the night before watching tv or surfing the 'net until 2,3,4 am. Then wake up (tired) as late as possible and still be able to roll into work by 10-10:30am. I took less time to get ready in the morning, because I was already fat and ugly, so why bother, right? A few weeks before surgery, I cut off my cable and internet at home. Now, I go home, eat dinner, read a book, do crafts, or talk to friends and then get to bed by 11 or 12pm. So I wake up at 8-8:30 RESTED and ready to go. I've taken a lot more care with my clothes--making sure they are pressed and clean and coordinated. I always wear jewelry now. I take time to blow dry my hair and style it, and sometimes even put on makeup (although I'm still not a makeuppy person). I also take time everyone to sit down, take my vitamins, eat breakfast, and write in my journal. I guess my philosophy with WLS was (and is) if I am going to take this big of a step, I'm going to take NOTHING of my "old" personality for granted. I questioned everything I did during the day, asking myself if it was helping my health, making me happy, or improving my life. As a result, a lot has changed, but I am SO MUCH HAPPIER!! (And lighter, too, for that matter!) That's what works for me, but your mileage may vary. Jem 326.5/271/165

An awesome reply!!! The Morning Star sausage pattie sounds like a winner. I definitely will try them! Thx! You go girl ... that's right "The new you" and it only gets better. I am so happy for you that life is good. Keep it up. I know staying up late and not getting an early start is not healthy and your whole day is wasted. Now that you have a life ... there is all kinds of wonderful new adventures and things for us to do! Putting on make-up and making ourselves look good, makes us feel good. I still yet have to get into the jewelry mode. Thanks for the uplifting message. Hugs from your fellow Mayer ... Terrylyn

I drink a protein shake as soon as I wake up (at 6am) and then I bring plain greek yogurt with blueberries to work and eat it around 9 or 10. I ad a pack of splenda to it.

I never thought of adding Splenda to the Greek yogurt. Doesn't it have more protein than our Dannon etc.? The blueberries is a nice touch also!
