Have not even lost 40lbs
If you started at 267 and you've lost 40 pounds, you're doing FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!
If you haven't already, you should check out the lightweight board.
Here's the link:
WLS Light-Weights
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/member-interests/wls_lightweights/
This board was designed for members who are right at the 100-120 pounds to lose range or less. Most people who are in this range sometimes refer to their self as a "light weight". So please check this board out, great way to meet others who fall into this catagory and see how they are doing.
I think you'll find people there who have had similar frustrations as they watch others "shrink faster," only to find that they're shrinking just as fast when their starting weight is taken into consideration.
Keep your chin up. You'll be where you want to be in no time!

I had surgery around the same time as you and I'm not down 40 lbs since surgery either. I'm down 38 lbs since 5/20. I've learned not to set weight goals by a specific calendar date. There is no true way to predict how much or how little I will lose. My body is going to do what it is going to do. The only thing I can do to help things along is to follow the rules set down by my doctor and make sure I get my protein in, my water in, my vitamins and exercise. If I do those things...weight will come off.

I can relate. I wanted to be at 250 by my next surgeon's visit on 8/23. Last time I weighed (about 2 weeks ago) I was 273 and my weight loss has been SLOOOOW the last 6-8 weeks or so (only about 15 pounds in 6 weeks) so I doubt I'll make it, but, like Kathy said, our body's going to do what it's going to do. If nothing else, I want to be AT or VEEEEEERY close to goal (175) by my bday in February. I'm going to Disneyland and want to be a runnin' fool by then!!!!!

Well I think I have beat you all at the slow loss. At 8 weeks I had only lost 20lbs. mostly because I am still retaining fluid. So like many of you have said, each body is different, even within families. Because my sister lost 1lb a day the 1st 6 months. But like I have told people I just have to keep tugging along at it.
