3 months out
Just got home from seeing my surgeon. My labs were all very good. He said I am no longer diabetic. I have not taken meds since I left the hospital. I am so happy. I have lost a total of 79.5 lbs since I started my journey. I had been feeling like a failure because of my weight loss since surgery but he told me the norm for loss is 10-15 a month. So according to that I am doing great. I am averaging about 19 lbs a month for a total weight loss of 57 lbs after surgery. Life is getting easier as the weight comes off. I am looking forward to reaching my goal someday. Hope all ther rest of the Mayers are doing well too.

Good for you, Brnda! I am also 3 months out in a couple of days and have released about 58# and 33 3/4 inches, but am feeling like that's not enough! My surgeon wants me to have gotten rid of 82# by the time that I see him in early Sept. and the pressure is killing me! I am eating the right things and have been working out 4-5 days a week, but am stalled right now! I always feel better when I drop some more. My trainer says that the muscle mass is building and that weighs more than fat, so I should just stop stressing over the number of lbs. and relax! I'm doing all the right things!
I guess I'm just never satisfied with the number of lbs.!

Wowsers! It sounds like you're doing great and all your dreams are coming true. Congratulations!!!!!
One, note...at my support group last night, a woman was reminding someone that even though she's not showing her diabetes symptoms, it doesn't mean she no longer has diabetes. Diabetes isn't cured, it's just controlled. It sounds like you're in control! Awesome! She did remind this woman that in an emergency, her body would still react as a diabetic's body.
I don't know much about it...but thought I'd pass along her two cents.
