Lost Appetite?

Up to this week, I have not had a problem with eating. Now when I eat or drink anything bu****er, it's not sitting right. I'm not at the point of puking, but I just feel off. Nothing looks real appetizing right now. Anybody else experience this? Any suggestions? Thanks, J

P.S. I had my gallbladder out 12 years ago, so that's not the problem. J

I have been feeling kinda like that also lately... One day is good and two bad days....then a good day...then bad day.....I am not as lucky as you, mine hasn't always stayed down....but I am able to keep liquids down....Its really really hot here.. The one thing in your message that did strike me is that you said liquids are not sitting well either. Have you talked to your doctor lately? Not being able to keep solids down isn't good, but liquids especially not a good sign. ---Take care of yourself

Sabrina, Everything is staying down, it just makes me feel kind of blah. I do drink lots of water, so thankfully dehydration isn't a problem. Stay cool! J

I wonder if this is typical? I've kind of had a loss of appetite and some meats that I used to eat now causes some pain in my sternum. I've also not been hungry (kinda nice) and it's hard to make myself eat but I know I have to in order to get the protein in. Some days I haven't succeeded. Liquids have been fine though. My weight is really coming off slow, I think because I've had a hard time getting the protein in. I decided today, that I would try to concentrate on getting in high protein stuff in early so I don't have to worry about it at night, maybe the weight will start dropping again. Other than that, I don't have any other suggestions.

I've been having somewhat of a loss of appetite lately. Just kind of ambivalent towards eating. I feel like I could take it or leave it. I eat because I need the fuel not because I'm super hungry or anything. Last night I had to drop the dog back at my ex-husband's house (we share custody...LOL!) and went to a restaurant we used to frequent and I ordered my usual thing. It was very tasty but I just really wasn't into eating. Got leftovers for tonight. As I said...just plain... ambivalent. I'm not having the problems with food sitting wrong though. Actually things have seemed to be sitting much, much better over the past couple of weeks. Kathy

Hi Jenny, I like Sabrina have days where my tummy complains about everything and others that it is fine. I do find I can eat anything in super small portions. Take care, feel better Jane

I was going to post the same thing. I've been doing this for about a week also. For instance, I just took a bite of my normal lunch (tuna) and just having it in my mouth made me want to gag. I choked down that bite and then had to throw the rest of it away. That was the first time in four days that I had even attempted solids because the same thing keeps happening over and over again. My weight has stalled during these four days and I know that it's because I'm not eating. I feel like crap! I would love any suggestions.

I had this happen a few weeks ago. All I wanted to do was sip chicken broth and snooze - the idea of eating food was entirely unappealing. Is your energy also flagging a bit? Your body might be going into a little hibernation mode. What worked for me was to force my calories higher (I had been eating 500-600 daily, but have now increased that to 900-1000) and to force myself to exercise even when I didn't feel like moving at all. It took a couple weeks, but my appetite and energy did return.

I am so glad to know that it's not just me. I was about to call the doctor's office today, because I just haven't been able to eat anything without feeling BLUCKY. Is that a word? I actually did throw up my dinner the other day. Then, yesterday was okay. Now today, it's back to bluckiness. I don't get it. Even the thought of the foods I normally eat makes me want to However, I feel better already knowing that you guys are experiencing it too. Must just be yet another stage. Julie
