What's your greatest WLS moment so far?

Hi everyone, Read Becca's post and thought maybe we all need to look beyond the issues (yes I know they suck) and think real hard about what our best WLS moment has been thus far. For me it has to be getting into my "plier" jeans. My friend previously had to stand over me with pliers to get them up, she kept telling me to try them on and I was way to afraid of the disappointment! Not only do they fit now they are actually loose, especially in the waist, no more dig marks when I take them off! Yahoo! Cary (just figured out how to use these icons, lol)

I agree about getting into clothes. Prior to surgery a fried gave me a pair of pants that she had bought but never wore because she had gained so much weight...I new I would be losing weight so I took them. I couldn't even get them over my hips....this morning the fit perfect that is a wow moment for me. Patti 225/165/135

For me, thus far, it's fitting into clothing I fit into 2 years ago. In 2003, I went from 279 to 215 lbs (March to November) doing low-carbing. I allowed myself to eat carbs at Christmas and spirled out of control and gained all but 3 lbs back within a few months - three times as fast to gain it back then to lose it. Sad but true. So to get down under that weight and fit into the smallest of the clothing that I bought back then...now thats my greatest WLS moment so far. And so many more to come! I cannot wait. My husband had his WLS August of last year (almost a year post-op) and he is at goal (he surpassed his surgeon's reasonable goal months ago). The greatest WLS moments - gosh there were so many! He has been able to go to a regular store and buy off the rack and that is a biggie for him. Kathy

Too funny Kathy, I too went on a hard core low carb diet back in 2003 from June to Dec, I like you went off at the holiday and try as I might could never get totally on track, I was lucky and did not gain it all back but I am now down to what I was then and like you am wearing all the clothes I had bought, cant wait to outgrow these and go buy some more!

Oh, what a coincidence, Cary. LOL! Yea, when I get lower in weight than now...I'm going to have to shop! I have a few pairs of jeans that my sister culled from her closet years ago - got some 12s and 14s - but that's pretty much it as far as what I have for the future as I lose more. Though my sister did say that she was going through her closet again so I hope there are more clothes in my future. She has been losing so she is down to a 10, I believe. Then a gal at work is down and she has some 14s that she is going to drag out of the closet for me. I'm not ready for them now but in the next month or two, I will be. Best wishes, Kathy

I said "goodbye" to Lane Bryant the other day. Most of us know they are Plus sizes 14-20somethings. I'm now a 14 and I heard they were having a sale and of course I went in becaues I love a sale!! Then as I was trying on 14s the fit well, some a little snug I realized, "why am I buying clothes that here that I won't wear very long??" So I left and said goodbye to that store as well as all the other plus sized areas. It's normal clothes from here on out and forever! BTW, I love your plier jeans story! Too cute. I don't miss clothes that dig in and leave those nasty red marks! I've bought a few staples my size: shirts and shorts but I'm going to wait a little longer before I buy any more.

My Greatest WLS moment so far was when my fiance was able to hug me...I mean really hug me, arms wrapped all the way around me...It's such a little thing, but it made me feel so wonderful...I also agree with everyone about wearing clothes I haven't worn in forever...Def a great feeling! ~*Becky*~ May 17th, 2005 -54.5lbs
