Retching, Oh help.
Hi eveyone.
Before I even got out of bed this a.m. I knew I was in for it. I stood up and the retching started. Lasted for about 10 minutes. There was nothing in there of course, so it just kept going and going and going. This is happening every morning now for the last week or so. I'm not doing anything differently, so I just don't know what's going on. And of course you're all going to tell me to call my surgeon or PCP... I did that. They don't know either!!!! What is up with THAT? The nurse said try to have a cracker before I get out of bed... or to have a SF peppermint candy before I get up. I'm so frustrated and sick of feeling lousy! MAN I am N O T glad I did this yet. I hope someday I will be.

Shannon,
I am SO sorry you are feeling bad. I had the dry heaves for 6 weeks after my surgery so I have an idea of what you are going through.
What worked for me was eating every 2 hours. I had to set a timer and literally eat every 2 hours. Your blood sugar could be dropping and causing the nausea. Especially in the morning after you have gone so long without food during the night. Make sure you have a protein snack before bed, and if you wake during the night get up and have a small glass of milk or one of those yogurt smootie drinks.
I'm not at the glad I did it place yet either so you are not alone sweetie.
I hope you get some relief soon. Oh, I remember someone mention ginger tablets for nausea. I don't know if it would help but I imagine at this point you are willing to try anything.
Thinking happy thoughts for you, wishing you a nauseus-free day!

Shannon,
I think it was me that someone was referring to about the ginger. I had real bad naseau and the health food store recommended ginger, I bought these chewable tablets called Ginger Trips. They taste good and it really helped, in fact used one today I thought I was gonna hurl during a meeting with my VP today (boy that would have been embarassing) I went straight to my mini-van where I keep them at all times and took one and whew the feeling went away, pretty quickly too. I hope you start feeling better soon!
