curious
I have a really hard time eating solids. Because of that, my surgeon has me on two liquid meals, and one solid meal per day. Tonight, for my one meal, I had about 8-10 shrimp (small to medium). That was too much for me, and it was difficult and uncomfortable to keep down.
Some foods I eat:
albacore steak or tuna from a can mixed with a little fat free mayo, 2 oz of chicken, string cheese, refried beans with some mozzerella, dry roasted almonds, a spoonful or so of natural peanut butter, protein bars, and SF popsicles.
I try to eat only things that are high in protein, at least until I'm a little further out, although I can tolerate the ocassional vegetable in small amounts (spinach, green beans, etc).
I hope that helps.

I am glad someone else has asked this question. I am just at 2 months out. My Nut. has me eating like the food group. She wants me to eat 1/2 toast with cream cheese for breakfast, juice or fruit for snack,1/2 toast and meat for lunch, yogurt for snack, meat, potato and veg. for dinner and to drink in between meals. now this is what I eat. I wake up and have 1 protien drink, then when I am awake I will eat scrabbled egg w/cheese maybe bacon or sausage and a Optisource vitamin. Then I drink 16 oz water or crystal lite juice, for lunch I usually do some kind of meat,(chicken salad, ham, turkey, roast beef, salomi, it all depends)and cheese and a vit. then 16 oz water, then I might have a yogert or fat free pudding or fat free cookie or popcycles depends on what I am craving. then more water. For dinner I try to eat what my family eats but sometimes I dont feel like cooking meals. and I take another vit. then I do 1 more portien drink and then maybe some water before bed. I keep water with me always. The dr. said that my iron but all my other stuff is fine.(bloodpressure-thyroid-colesteral-asthma) I am going to add lettuce to my food soon. I have been wanting a salad maybe with my lunch meal. I can eat out with my husband at resterants. I have tried orental, one time it went down ok the next time I ate to fast and it didnt. I have to remember to take my time, chew chew and chew. It takes me between 15 to 25 min. to eat. I only eat between 2 to 6 oz. depends on what it is. If its soup or chili I can eat up to 6oz. if its meat I can eat 2oz.(you get alot for those 2 oz) I can eat wheat breat but i cant eat white bread or pizza crust. I wish they made a wheat pizza crust but if you like mushrooms my friend uses those really big mushrooms for the bottom of her pizza and just builds the toppings she likes ontop. I dont care for mushrooms unless they are cut very very small just for flavor. I love chili the way I make it(take a 3pack chicken breast boil in Mckormic chili pack. when its done take and puree the chicken. put back in the pan add 2 cans of light kidneybeans 1 can of pinto pines 1 can of tomato paste or dice tomatoes your choose. mix in extra chili powder and hot sauce if you like it spicy. I cant eat to spicy since we cant drink with meals.) my family loves it also. quick and easy and stays down. I really crave Kidney beans. I guess the carbs in beans are not as bad for you as carbs in breads. I dont understand that but everyone says that they can eat all the chili they want. Hope this helps you. Sometimes I get scared that my dumping doesnt work. I know that when I eat something to fast or if it doesnt go down right it feels like a brick on my chest and I have to go to the bathroom and get rid of it. Good luck
Here's what I had yesterday and it is pretty typical:
B - Prostat 64 (protein supplement) and a few low-fat crackers to settle the nausea
L - 1/2 cup soy chili
D - 2 oz chicken and one tablespoon mashed taters (they were so good!)
Snack - one sugar free Jolly Rancher candy
meds, vitamins, water, etc....
Hey Glenn,
Here's what I ate yesterday:
B: 1 scrambled egg and 1/3 of a Slimfast Lo-Carb Protein Bar
S: Nectar Tea (36g Protien)
L: 1/2 Southbeach Diet Wrap meal (ham, turkey and cheese in a WW lo-carb tortilla)
D: 5 1/2 Shrimp
A couple spoonsful could mean a lot of different things. The denser the food, the less you'll be able to hold at one time because it's going to sit in your pouch longer.
What's important is, are you feeling good? Is your Nutritionist happy? Are you getting your protein and water in?
