I want my life back!

As motivational and inspirational as you've all been these past 8 weeks since my surgery, I am still having so MANY problems I can't stand it! I go to bed nauseous, I wake up nauseous, I'm losing the few bites I can tolerate... the only thing that stays down is yogurt and string cheese. I'm barely getting in 10 oz of water a day... it seems there's just no ROOM in my pouch for more. Oh you guys, I'm so miserable. I'm back at work now since yesterday and I just want to GO HOME. I don't even know what I'm asking for here. I need a hug so bad. I need someone to understand that this is so hard, much harder than I thought it was going to be! My hubby just tells me it'll get better... but no one says WHEN it's going to get better!. I felt good last week Monday, so what changed? Why am I sick some days and not on the others? What's the point of eating mashed potatoes if they don't have any of the required nutrients? If I eat enough protein, then I'm lacking in potassium and Iron. Okay, so I'm not going to GET my life back, I need help, and I don't even know what I need. I guess I'm your whiny-est board member. I can't stop crying.... and I don't know what anyone can do. You need to be talking to your surgeon. You shouldn't be nauseous all the time. You shouldn't be losing your meals. That is not normal! You could be developing a stricture. You need to get checked out. Kathy

Shannon, I'm so sorry you're still so miserable. If I could give you a hug, I would. Kathy's right, you really need to talk to your surgeon, you shouldn't be having so many problems. It could be a stricture. It could be dehydration. If you're only getting in 10oz of water and taking in so very little food, you're going to get dehydrated which will make you nauseous and throw up even more. Even though potassium and iron are importan****er and protein are more so. Can you drink gatorade if it's watered down? That would help with the fluids as well as potassium/electrolytes. Hi Shannon, First of all (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) from me to you! I am really sorry that you are doing well. I agree with the other ladies contact your surgeon immediately, something is not right. I do know that you have good days and bad days and it does get better. I can't say when because everyone's body is different so we react differently to change and pain. Congratulations on the -48 lbs that you have lost. I pray that things will get better for you soon. Please let me know what your surgeon says. Have a blessed day! Andrea 262/229/???

Shannon~ I'm with the other people, you NEED to contact your surgeon. Things are not well if you can only get in 10 oz of water/day and can't handle anything else. Step away from the computer - c'mon - right now. Pick up the phone - go do it - NOW! There you go. Now dial the surgeon's number and tell him everything you just told us. We love you and don't want anything to happen to you!! (((((HUGS))))) Michelle

Abig hug and asking God to send special blessings your way. I thought I was the whiniest person ever to have surgery..! At this stage, Shannon, quit worrying about anything except staying hydrated. I had terrible nausea and my doc told me to eat every 2 hours. (I know it goes against the grain when trying to lose weight) 3 oz of yogurt, a 4 oz glass of 1% milk, squeeze cheese on a few crackers, Minnestrone soup, peanut butter on a cracker, cottage cheese. I am only able to eat small amounts but the nausea is starting to get under control. A big issue is blood sugar, when your sugar drops it causes nausea, thats the reason for eating every few hours... they had me setting a timer to remember... its that important! Let ice and SF popsicles melt in your mouth. That helps with hydration. We all understand the emotional turmoil, especially when you feel sick day in and day out. Be proactive in your health care. I agree with the ladies, A call to the doc is definately in order. I hope you are feeling better soon Shannon. One day at a time.... deep breath. I am here for you! Barb (and congrats on the 48 lbs... you rock!)
