Eleven Weeks Already?
Hi, May Babies!!!
This Friday marks my eleventh week since surgery. I'm taking my protein, water, vitamins and exercise like a pro, and I just wanted to say that I NEVER could have made it this far without your support and experiences.
One of my cousins is considering RNY, and told me she was afraid to go through with it. I think she was hoping I'd tell her how easy it was, and that there was nothing to be afraid of. I guess she doesn't know me that well. I told her that this is by no means the easiest thing I've ever done, but it has been worth the risk. I remember being so scared after my consultation. I grilled my surgeon about his complication and mortality rates. I prayed daily. And I was petrified up 'til the day I left the hospital. But here I am, almost eleven weeks later, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
So I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get through. The advice, the encouragement, and sharing YOUR successes has really helped me stay in line.
You guys ROCK!!!

Tiffany,
You and I had surgery the same day! I know what you mean about the being scared part. We did it though and other than some set backs and complications I have had ( a stricture and I developed an ulcer on my new pouch ) I am doing pretty good. I have been very strict on my diet and very proud of myself. I was totally expecting this whole depression thing to sweep over me, the grieving over the food, but so far so good. How about you? I need to join Curves or something now that I am cleared to work out lightly. Just walking isnt cutting it anymore and I am starting to notice the extra skin under my upper arms! ARGGHH!! Keep in touch. It is nice to talk to those that had surgeries the same time I did. Layter!
