That EVIL scale!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to post, because I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited, that the scale finally has moved after nearly 4 weeks of nothing! Talk about remorse! Yikes! But, it has moved, I will take the 2 lbs! I have been stuck at 260 for nearly 4 weeks and now down to 258.
Just keep doing what you are doing if the scale doesnt seem to want to move. I came to the realization last weekend that my body is going to do what it wants to do no matter what. Im certainly not a WLS poster child, but I do the best I can each day (some days are better than others).
Just know........the scale will eventually move!
Thanks everyone for your support and wonderful words of encouragement throughout this whole process.
Talk soon!!!!!!!!!
Carrie
Congrats, Carrie!
I know the feeling of relief when the scale finally moves! I was in a holding pattern for about 3 weeks myself and was incredibly discouraged! Then totally relieved when it finally moved!! All we can do is to continue doing what we know to do with food and exercise and believe that our body will eventually come alongside!!

I'm so excited for you, Carrie!
The scale has been stuck for me too. It has gone up and down, but basically hovered around the same weight for several weeks. However, my clothes are baggier, and I feel better, so I know something's happening...the fat is redistributing or I'm losing inches, or one of those cliched things.

Carrie,
You are so right! Your body will do what it wants to and we don't really have alot of control over it like we did in the past when we lost weight by dieting.
If you are getting your protein and eating your meals (per your doctor), taking your vitamins, drinking enough fluids and exercising...there isn't anything for you to chance to improve things. There just isn't. We eat probably at least 50% less calories than we did when we were following other diets in our lives so what could we possibly change??? So, if you are doing as instructed by your specific surgeon...that's all you can do.
The body is shocked by this whole process and by the big reduction in intake and it is going to have to take breaks to catch up with itself. Plus you'll find that many post-ops who have walked this walk will tell you that they lost weight in spurts. They'd go a few weeks with no loss and them wham...they'd be down a few to several pounds. That was normal for them.
Best wishes!
Kathy
