What is wrong with me???
Why, oh why am I NOT losing weight???? I will be 6 weeks out on Tuesday and I haven't lost but a pound since week 3. I've been getting around 60 gr of protien in a day. My liquid intake is low, I know (about 50 oz). I take all my vitamins and meds. Is it because my liquid is low that I'm not melting like the rest? Is something wrong with me?
Diane
I know exactly what you mean. I lost 30 pounds the first 2 weeks and then not a pound for 5.....yes 5 weeks. I finally started loosing again. I;m 8 weeks post op now and down 40 pounds. Dont worry too much though. It will start coming off again soon. I know its easier said then done. i was freaking out for 5 weeks not loosing anything. Good Luck

OHHHHHHHH GIRL! I totally feel ya! you arent alone, trust me! At week 3 I gained 8 lbs and just recently lost that. I have been stuck at 30 lb loss for nearly 4 weeks. I finally came to the realization this past weekend that my body is going to do what it wants to do when it wants to. I cant control it.........the only thing I can control is what I put into my mouth. As long as we make healthy choices, this surgery will work for us! It will work for you too! Its just disappointing when you dont see the scale move as much as it does for others.
Remember this also......if you look at the people that are at goal or close, it has taken them a year or so to lose alot of weight. When you average it all out everyone loses about 2-3 lbs a week.........so we are all on target, actually, even ahead of it!
Just nice to keep things in the big picture perspective. Keep on losing girl! Its going to be worth it all.........go easy on yourself and dont weigh every day! That will put you in the looney bin!
Ciao all!!
Carrie
I weighed 285 right before surgery and have lost 36lbs, but i had lost 20lbs pre op so. but I had my surgery June 14th, so I figure it ain't bad
I have lost a total of 10 1/2 inches. You will lose if you stick with the important guidelines and mine are:
at least 64 ounces of liquid a day
at least 50 grams of protein a day
no drinking with meals
no more than 4 ounces per meal
exercise
Now, I found if I starve or don't eat, I stall out. Your body has zero to work with when we do that. But each person to whatever they think is best
Hugs!
Hi Diane,
I'm also stuck, for a few weeks now
I've been doing tons of reading and I have read (many places) that our bodies move into starvation mode at this stage. It thinks it is being starved so it stops burning calories. It is holding onto the fat as storage. It has been suggested that until we can get our caloric intake up to 800 calories we will not lose. I'm lucky to be getting in 300 calories right now!
But I have lost 7" in my waist! 3" from my bust and 3 1/2" from my hips.
Try keeping track of inches once a month, that is at least a bit of encouragement.
I'm throwing the evil scale in the trash... hehehe
Keep up your good work... it will move!

I was reading on here last night, and alot of them said, the more they eat, the faster they lose. I have found this to be true. I still do no more than 4 ounces at a meal, but in between meals, I eat something also but is not as much as meal time and I find the weight drops off. If you eat very little, your body has nothing to work with. This is just my opinion and if you feel you need to, talk to your dr.
