No Eat No Weight Loss

Well this sucks!!! Last week I was down to 217lbs!!! But I've had a very hard time eating and drinking. (completely stress enduced there's no physical problem) I got sick and was in the hospital for 48 hours. In that time they pumped me soooo full of liquids via IV that I came home weighing 226!!!!!!!!! I just about CRIED!! Here I am a week later and I'm down to 220, but I still can't get in the proper amounts of food and drink. So Im not losing any weight! It's so depressing. Yesterday I ate: B - 1/4 cup south beach diet cereal (softened in milk) L - 1/4 cup potato soup with bacon and shredded cheese added D - 5 Nacho chips crushed topped with 1 tbs. refried beans, 1 tbs. ground beef and shredded cheese S - 1/2 of another nacho meal I drank: 40 oz of water!!!! Isn't that horrible. I'm trying to focus on the protein in what I do it, but everything that I "liked" when I first got on real food I can no longer eat more than a bit or so!! I sure hope this gets better soon. I'm doing all I can to stay out of the hosptial again!!!!!

Hello, I do not see an issue with what you are eating, however, are you exercising. I have noticed that when I do not exercise I only lose,if any, 1 to 2 pounds a week. If I exercise I may lose 4 to 5 pounds a day. I have lost 60lbs in 2 months since my surgery and I know if I step up my exercise routine I could continue to lose at least 20-30 lbs a month. Besides, if you are patient the pounds will just melt off. Alisa

According to my surgeon I should be eating six 3 - 4 oz meals a day. The protein should be 60 g a day and the water should be 50 - 60 oz a day. So according to him I'm WAY off. I was walking 2 miles a day for exercise, but now I don't have the strength to do that. So, I'm starting over with the walking and just going around the block and then building it up from there. As far as 'real exercise' I have no idea when I can start that. I want to start using my Gazelle machine... guess I'll have to call and find out if I can do that. I know that the weight will come off, I'm just tired of feeling fat!! laurie

Yes, it's a bummer, but it'll get better!! I make sure that the serving is sparse on the carbs, but what else do you put nacho meat and beans on? (haha) Thanks Vicki Laurie

Hello there I have not been back in the hospital but my weight loss did slow due to lack of food. When trying to eat real food I just can't consume enough to get my protein in. So I have added two to three protein drinks back into my daily consumption. I am also trying to get away from any carbs. No more cereal for me or chips of any kinds. Granted I have not eaten alot of them but enough of it and it should have been protein not carbs. In one of my drinks I was adding more banana to it now i have cut that in half. I would try adding more protein drinks in that way you do not have to eat all day to get your protein in from food.
