Another poll....
1. I am 8 weeks post op.
2. Since about week 5, I've been on "anything you can tolerate. Pr5otein first. Cut small, chew well." The only thing I can't really tolerate is bread - sticks like a lump of clay.
3. I have a cast iron pouch. I can handle anything. But occasionally I eat too fast or too much. Then - OUCH!

Hi Heather:
I'm 6 weeks post-op and on solid food phase (finally !!!). As of today I've lost 25 pounds. Fortunately, or unfortunately, nothing I've ever eaten has made me sick. The only problem I've had was eating too quickly once and that made me .
I always have sf popsicles, creamsicles and fudgsicles in the freezer for a quick "sweet" snack.

1. How many weeks post op are you? 8 weeks tomorrow
2. What stage of diet has your doctor got you on? If you are not on solid foods yet, when do you expect to be released to eat solids? I'm on solids now, with some restrictions.
3. What has been your favorite new pouch friendly food so far? Fruit! I love fruit! Not only does it go down easily, it also is helping me with the constipation I was experiencing.

I guess solids! lol My nutritionist hasnt cleared me for the next step yet, but June 27th was my last day of full liquids/pureeds. I just try whatever I feel like and see how it works for me. So far so good! My stomach is made of steel these days and nothing bothers it (except protein drinks and vitamins!).
3. What has been your favorite new pouch friendly food so far?
Shrimp, SF Fudgesicles, Watermelon, fish and V8.

1. 5 weeks and two days post op.
2. on solid foods since week two handling most everything okay. Well cooked red meat give me fits, have to have rare or just on the verge of being well cooked.
3. I love breakfast!! I fry one egg till just about soft. Pam cooking spray works well for this. I put my egg over sourdough toast, with no crust. Very yummy!! My favorite snacky sugar food is about 7 peanut butter m&m's, real sugar with a little protein added
