First, Happy 4th to all of you. Okay, here's what happened to me today. Breakfast was one scrambed egg (no yolk) and a few bites a sausage, vitamin and all settled well as usual. Lunch: Two small bites of moist bbq chicken (no sauce), 8 or so whole pinto beans, 2 oz. of moist rib meat (no sauce) and a bite of potato salad. I thought I made good choices since I was surrounded by an abundance of naughty foods on the picnic table and I felt no need to cheat by any means. 4 o'clock: I wanted to get dinner in earlier than usual and ate more chicken only. After a few bites, I realized that last bite was NOT chewed so well by me, first time this has happened. I pushed the plate away and felt uncomfortable. I didn't know if something was stuck there or what. No more than a few minutes later I was throwing up what little I ate. I felt better afterwards but 30 min. later my tummy felt really sore and my intenstines were really crampy. We came home and I lay down for 45 minutes until it all passed and I felt better. 7:30: I felt a tad hungry but was scared to eat anything so I thought I could eat some crackers. I ate one and it went down but after 1/2 of the second I was throwing up again. I will not eat until tomorrow. In a little while I will drink water and maybe get to bed earlier. Is my tummy just senstive from earlier? Hence that's why I threw up crackers? Maybe my tummy didn't like the chicken the second time around? Has anyone every had a similar problem and if so are you much better the next day??? I feel find now but scared to eat. FYI: I'm 8 weeks post-op on soft stage diet. ALL foods (chicken, beef, poultry, seafood, milk products, etc) have agreed with me. I've only dumped once long, long ago on a SF fudgesicle. Thanks for listening! Ana 221/181/??

ANa, I've had a similar experience and it was also with chicken. I ate one bite too much and didn't get that last bite chewed as thoroughly. I threw up and felt better. I didn't throw up again, but it was in the evening and I didn't eat again after that. I felt much better in the morning. I would think it's probably your tummy still upset from earlier, but if you have more difficulty, I'd call your surgeon. Hope you're feeling much better tomorrow! ~Wanda

Hey Vicki, I posted also on the Texas Board and all the old timers there emailed me and said sometimes even at 1 or 2 years out their pouches have "bad days" according to them. I feel WONDERFUL today. Thanks and I hope you continue to do well on all your foodds.

Ana - this has happened to me once when I got something stuck. It hurt so bad and "She Who Must Be Obeyed" (my pouch) was not happy the rest of the day and next day. Take it really easy, eat very mild foods (soups, etc****il it feels like it may be okay. Nothing heavy like meats, starches (crackers, etc.), or anything until pouchy-poo feels better!! Hey Michelle! Thanks for your response and everyone elses. I am feeling great today. I'm taking it easy: breakfast was oatmeal and lunch was soup. I guess I had one of those days. I need to name my pouch! lol
