Slow losers poll
I had my surgery the same day as you. I started at 299lbs at 5'10" and currently weigh 256. I lost 15lbs pre-op and 28 post-op. The first 6 weeks (excluding pre-op), I averaged 4lbs a week. Last week I didn't lose anything! Then I lost a little more starting this past Sunday. I try not to weigh myself too often...but you know how it is.
Exercise: I walk 3-5 miles 2-3 times a week, and that's about it right now. Vitamin b-12 helps give me energy. I do still experience fatique when climbing stairs or walking inclines - it really gets me! I can walk 3 miles straight - no problem, give me 1 flight of stairs and I'm breathless!
Water: I drink as much (crystal light, vitamin water, propel, etc.) as I can in a day, minimum 80oz.
Protien: I drink at least one protien shake a day, most times two. I try to keep the protein up because I think that helps avoid the stalling. I eat high protien foods (like cottage cheese and meats) for meals. I don't get too much else in like veggies or fruit because I can't get it in after the protien. I eat because I have to, not because I'm hungry.
How are you doing?

I AM SO THE SAME WAY!!!! I walked to my gym (1-1/2 miles away), did 10 minutes on the bike, 45 minutes of weights, walked 1/2 way home, and was FINE! That night I walked upstairs to go to bed and thought I was going to die! Whazzup with that??!??!?!!?

Hi Beejay: I had my Lap RNY on 5/24/05 with a starting weight of 255. As of this morning (6 weeks later) I'm at 231. I lost 16 pounds during the first week and half after surgery...stalled at 2 1/2 weeks....then it slowed to a crawl. I've been averaging about a pound or so a week since then. Not what I expected...but better than nothing. I just got permission to go back to Curves...so started that again today. I'm officially on the "solid food" phase of my diet. YES, I still experience fatigue...but I haven't started my B-12 shots yet and I think my thyroid meds need adjusting. My surgeon wants me to get 64 g. of protein and 60 oz. of fluid. She doesn't want me adding more protein to the day because, according to her, that's about all the body can absorb during the day and if I add more I'm just adding calories. I've heard so many opinions on this but I'm taking the advice of my surgeon...after all, she's the one *****arranged me.
