Hey Tonya, In regards to the liquid ... I have found a couple of things that are good, that is if your taste buds aren't as sensitive to "sweet" tastes (some people are, but I haven't been). Tropicana makes a sugar free fruit punch (this is my fave) and a sugar free lemonade and a sugar free Orange Drink (I haven't tried these yet). Minute Maid also makes sugar free beverages. I'm drinking the guava citrus now and it's pretty good! All can be found in your pop aisle in your grocery store. Pepsi makes the Tropicana and I've only found it in 2 liter bottles. The Minute Maid is by Coke and I've only seen it in 12 pack cans. None of these are carbonated!!!!! Best wishes! Diane

Lipton Brisk Diet Lemon Iced Tea, is the best. No calories, no carbonation and it is tasty. I too am sick of jus****er. It comes in cans and two liter bottles. Cheers

I guess I'm lucky, because I can eat just about any meat. Pork chops, pork roast, cheeseburgers on the grill (yum!), fish, tacos etc. Drinks, I've been using Crystal Lite in the little tubes that you mix with a 16 oz bottle of water, Lipton Diet Rasberry Ice Tea, Propel and of course, just plain ol' water. Doc doesn't want any carbs until you reach 75% of your weight loss, so no carbs for now. Just protein and I can add in green veggies.

Hi Tonya: I had my LAP surgery the same day as you. So far I've been able to eat anything...only thing that made me sick was eating too quickly and not chewing well. I've had lobster, shrimp scampi, Gardenburger, baked beans, Ham pot pie...among other things. Soda is a definate no-no ! The carbonation will expand your pouch and cause problems. Will also fill you up with empty calories when you should be getting protein. I drink Crystal Lite, Diet Decaf Iced Tea, Water, sugar free Koolaid and Tropicana sugar free Orange drink. Tonya, You have already received a lot of helpful responses to your question and I really can't add anything more than my personal experience. I've not been able to drink much more than skim milk and water. All the other flavored drinks taste nasty to me at this point. I was determined to try a diet soda. I consulted with my nut. and of she didn't recommend it for most all of the reasons that everyone has stated but I'm hardheaded and had to try it. I'm 8 weeks out tommorrow. Well I tried a few sips of CF Diet Coke. The first sip I thought.....ahh!! this is great. The second sip..."hey this isn't bad" The third sip I thought, "ooh this isn't what I remembered" By the fourth sip, I was belching like crazy and there was a tightness in my chest. The carbonation was soo painful for me. It just made me feel like I had someone had pumped me full of air. I've sworn off carbonated beverages ...well at least for a few more months. Of course, this was my experience only. Everyone is different and what bothers me, may not bother you. Good luck!! Jaimie
