1. How far post-op are you? 6 weeks post-op tomorrow 2. What surgery did you have? Lap RNY 3. State/country you live in? Virginia 4. Age? 44 5. What was your first (second, etc) WOW moment since surgery? First, wow moment was seeing a thinner face in the mirror 5-6 days after surgery. Imagine that. The next one was realizing that my bath towel fit around me and I could "latch" it. 6. Have you reached any of your intermediate goals yet? (Fit into a favorite piece of clothing? Be able to walk a mile without getting winded? Reach a specific number on the scale?) I just reached my intermediate goal of weighing less than I did in 2003 after I had a big weight loss. I gained the weight back in early 2004 much faster than it was lost the year before. So now I weigh less than I have in 13-14 years. 7. What is your favorite (or most tolerable) protein supplement? I drink Nectar Lemon Tea. That's my fav. 8. What stage diet are you on? I'm on pureed foods for two more weeks but since we have had some family occassions I've been doing some dining out and have done well chewing with my own teeth! 9. What food just isn't working for you yet? Not sure about milk. And the jury is out on eggs (omelettes). Other than that...I'm doing okay with most everything else. 10. Are you exercising? If so, what are you doing and how much? Sporatically doing stuff. Walking. Starting to lift some small weights at home to work on my upper body. Need to get into a good routine. 11. What is your next intermediate goal(s)? My next goals... one is to get under 200 lbs (am 215.5 right now). Other one is to fit into my size 16 jeans that I wore in 2003. While I weigh a tiny bit less than I did then, it is rearranged differently unfortunately. 12. How are people reacting to the changes in you? Nothing but positives and lots of support. Never had to deal with any naysayers or doubters or gloom and doom types. 13. Do you have any regrets about the surgery?

Hi I had the rny and I feel good. I'm happy with everything but my weight loss. I lost 25 pounds the first month but have only lost 6 the second month. I eat so little that it surprises me but I keep trying to remember that these pounds are gone forever and I won't be yo-yoing as I did in the past. How about you? Do you feel good?

Jane, I feel great. I'm down a total of 28.5 in 6 weeks (I lost 32 lbs pre-op - so overall I'm down just over 60 lbs since mid-February). Lost 25 lbs month 1 and now 3.5 lbs in the past 10 days (second month). I'm happy. The weight is coming off. I really didn't have any big expectations so I'll take whatever I get. I think the fact that I feel so good helps. Carrying 60 less lbs means that I move better and have more stamina. I find that I carry my head higher and walk with more grace and confidence. All big pluses. Good luck to you! Kathy
