I hope this isn't "out of bounds"

Tonight, my wife and I were out on one of our rare dates. She had a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a local ice cream shop similar to Rita's Italian Ices. I got a small gelati with SF lemon italian ice and SF homemade vanilla ice cream. I had about half of it and got full. Since it was all sugar free, I'm assuming this was okay. It went down easy and I'm not having any "problems" if you know what I mean (and I think you do!). Anybody been told by their nutri or surgeon that SF ice cream is either okay or out of bounds?

I would think that if you aren't lactose intolerant or have problems with the SF ingredients that something like this would be okay once in a while as long as it wasn't a substitute for getting your protein in. Ya know? LOL! Glad you were able to get out on a nice "date"! Kathy

I eat SF dilly bars from DQ, SF popcicles, SF fudgecicles, etc... (not every day though) and Ive done fine with them. I can only eat about 1/3 to 1/2 half of it though then my daughter gets the rest!!

My surgeon said (other than high sugar and/or fat) anything is pretty much okay. If it gives you no problems - go for it! Count it towards your dairy for the day and it most likely has protein in it!
