Week of May 22nd How did you do at your 4 week checkup?
I was pleased that I had lost 21.8 pounds and seven inches. Thank
God I am starting to see some results and am starting to beleive this
is going to work for me.
My surgeon wants me to exercise two times a day for 25 min each
time and that is hard for me. I am getting in one 30 min. I hate
to exercise. Any suggestions?
Betty
I have a six week check up, not a four week one, so I'll let you know next week.
I hate exercise too, but I force myself to do it. I keep telling myself that I didn't decide to make this huge change in my life so that I could keep the same bad habits and attitude as before.
So...
Every morning, I get to work early, and I do laps around the little hospital where I work. I walk for 30 minutes. Then, during my lunchbreak, I work out for 25-30 minutes. Luckily, I have easy access to the gym at work, so I can use all that great equipment! If I didn't have it available though, I'd probably at least try to get some stretching in, and then would work out in the evening instead.
On the weekends, I slack off a little, in that I only take one walk. But, I walk on the middle school track near my house and count out four laps so I know I've walked at least a mile. Or, I go swimming in a friend's pool and kind of tread vigorously and "jog" in place in the water for at least 45 minutes.
Anyway, that's what works for me. I hate every minute of walking, and I REALLY hate that exercise bike in the gym, but I just push myself as much as I can...saying in my head, "it's only a tool...it's up to me to use it."
Good luck, and please know that you're not alone!
