For lovers of fitday.com, another tool I discovered!
I know many of you are keeping your food and exercise in fitday, either the online version or the downloaded version (which has more features.) I was frustrated because I wanted to put in some recipes from "Superfoods Rx" and needed to know the nutrition content. One of my friends told me about this very inexpensive software called MasterCook Low Carb 7.0. It has tons of great recipes that we can eat or eventually eat and has all the nutrition information for fitday. You can type in your recipe and it does a nutritional analysis for you.
I know I'm a computer geek, but, I feel that the only way I can do this right is to have a real idea of what I'm eating and how I'm doing on my protein grams, calories and carb intake. After I put in a couple of recipes I've been eating, I've found I've underestimated the calories and protein content, so it has changed my total calories and proteins.

Lori,
I haven't used fitday.com yet, but was told about it. How expensive is the software that you're referring to? Is it pretty easy to find at places like Office Depot, Staples, ets.?
I had my surgery on May 5th and am just starting to transition from pureed foods to regular foods. I'm having a difficult time tracking the amount of protein that I'm getting and this sounds like it would be helpful. Thanks for the information.

Debb,
I think you have to get fitday.com off their website. There is an online version, which I think is something like $19.95, then there is the home version, which I think is $29.95, you just download it. The home version has more features. I bought the priciest option, which is to download the software for the home, and have them send me a cd of the software. I want to load it on my work computer too. That was another $10. But, worth it for me. I highly recommend it. It is really helping me track everything very well. Plus, it is fun to see the weight graph on it's way down, down!
