I hear ya, Tom - it's tough getting some of them down. I couldn't handle Isopure, or much of anything else either. EAS is good, but it's so much (like 15 oz) that it takes like an hour to drink it (the pre-made ones). I mix the Nectar Fuzzy Navel (1-1/2 scoops) with about 5 oz of water - ends up being a little over 6 oz, so I can drink it within 30 minutes. It's best with SUPER cold water or even better with OJ. I'm not going to lie and say it's fantastic, but I can get it down. Also, it's 35 grams/protein and like I said, about 6 oz. The other Nectars I haven't liked (apple ecstasy, iced tea, carribean cooler, the lemonade is okay mixed in with Minute Maid Light lemonade) but the fuzzy navel is pretty good. I just felt that I had to get the most 'bang for my buck' for lack of a better way of saying it. I mean, if I can get 35 g/protein in 5 oz, I can handle that and I drink 2 per day, so that's 70 grams/protein and everything else that I eat is gravy. Then I don't have to worry about (like today) if I want to eat some vegetables for lunch, I don't feel guilty for filling up my pouch with something that doesn't have protein in it.

Tom, I had heard that isopure was good but after sending for some samples, I think it is one of the worst! Unjury is about the best I've tried, the vanilla is real smooth and can be mixed with any flavor you like. My favorite chocolate is the ProV 60 melted chocolate ice cream. Tastes just like its name. Very smooth, mixes great. You can get loads of samples from Susan Maria or Vitalady. I've found that Susan Maria's are shipped faster but Vitalady has more variety. Keep trying, there is one out there that you'll like! Becky Jean

Have you tried just fortifying mik with non-fat dry milk? That's the recipe my program gave me: 4 Cups 1 or 2% milk (I use Carb Countdown) 1 cup Nonfat Dry milk Flavoring (optional - I use CIB but you can use SF Syrups, extracts, SF jello or pudding, 100% juice concentrate, etc.) THis makes for 65 g of protein in about 32 oz that you can split up and drink throughout the day. To me, it doesn't have the funky protein aftertaste, although I'm pretty much sick of milk in general... Becky

I do an 8-oz. glass of skim milk, with a scoop of AnyWhey powder, and 2 tbsp. of SF Nesquik chocolate milk mix. It gives me 25g of protein at a pop. I do this twice a day and with diet, I get about 60g of protein a day. I'm supposed to be getting 75-80g a day, but I just CANNOT do a 3rd one of these each day. I figure 60g is still good enough to prevent hair loss, etc. I might have to try that stuff from Wal-Mart. To get 26g in from only 4-oz. of liquid would be wonderful.

Hey Tom, I too had difficulties with the powder drinks but since have been told of Champion Nutrition, Pure Whey. The full packet is 52 grams of protein mixed in 8 oz. of water, however, they recommend you split the packet up and mix only 4 oz at a time getting in 26 grams of protein a serving. Now I do two drinks a day and have 52 grams of protein total from the protein drinks. I was told to go to Vitalady.com and purchase the sample packets first to see what flavors I liked best. The cost of the sample packets is around $8 and I received 7 different packets. I can honestly say the chocolate flavor is pretty good.

Tom, I know what you mean!! I use to LOVE the Keto shakes with 26 grams of protein b4 surgery, now i can on them, & any other milk based protein drinks! Have you tried the pre-bottled 20oz Zero Carb Isopure (not the mix in the plastic can). It taste like somewhat cystal lite, & is clear, & each bottle is 40 grams of protein. I split 1 bottle up into 2 different "meals". Also, there is this stuff called Pro-stat 64. Now, it doesn't taste good......... HOWEVER, 2 tablespoons has 15 grams of protein, & zero carbs. So, even though the taste isn't great, it's such a small serving (2 spoonfuls), that i found it much easier to take 4 to 6 tablespoons of this throughout the day versus gagging down a 12 oz protein drink. Just something to think about. Good luck to you..... by the way, my mom had the same surgen as you, small world! Mike

Mike - I never tried the IsoPure drinks, only the shake mixes. The drinks are $$$$. Any my nutritionist said that Pro-Stat 64 is not recommended because it doesn't absorb nearly as well as most other proteins. Besides it too was very $$$. That's the one positive of what I'm doing...its fairly cheap. But, damn, its disgusting!
