Endoscopy on Monday!

Just talked to my surgeon. He thinks I do indeed have a stricture developing. Right now things stay down but feel funky in there...I'm only intaking fluids. He said to just keep sipping and take it very easy. Not the most comfortable feeling to have the tightness right in the center of chest. Very disconcerting. I have my endoscopy on Monday at 11:15. Hopefully all will feel better Monday afternoon! Kathy

Thanks so much, Vicki! I grew up in NY (first 25 years, that is). Queens gal...went to St. John's and worked for a while in Farmingdale and eventually in Great Neck before I moved to VA. Been here 19 years now. My sister lives in Floral Park with a summer house in East Quogue. Will be there for Labor Day! Kathy

Hi Kathy - Sorry to hear that you are having problems! Scary thing is that I think I'm having something similar. Can you tell me more about what a stricture is? or where I can find more information about it? I have also been having the tightness/blockage feeling right in the center of my chest. It is VERY painful and scary. I find the only way I can get it to go away is to get sick. Then I have what I can only describe as the "white foamies" for about 15-20 minutes, which also causes me to get sick. At first I only did this a time or two and I thought that maybe I ate too fast or didn't chew well enough, but now this is happening almost everytime I eat, unless I am eating broth, yogurt, etc. I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op and was released to soft solids, but not getting much to stay down. I am scheduled to see my surgeon early next week and plan on talking to him about it. Kimber
