What are you all taking for Vitamin B? I've been feeling like I need a boost in energy lately

I take a sublingual liquid I buy at Walmart. It's a b-complex. I probably only need to take it once a week, but right now, I'm taking it about every other day or so and it seems to be working well for me. I don't remember the brand, I think Nature's Valley or something like that.

Becky, Thanks for letting me know about the liquids. I'm going to scope them out shortly! Does yours have B1 in it? I am replacing my B1 with a B-complex 50 per my surgeon and I was looking at different brands around the net and it looks like some don't have B1 in them. Thanks, Kathy

Kathy, The sublingual that Becky mentioned has B-2 (1.7 mg), B-6 (2 mg), B-12 (1,200 mcg - not a typo) , Niacin (20 mg), and Pantothenic acid (30 mg). I hope that helps. -Dina

Yup, Dina's right. I'm home now and just looked it up. Also, it's called Spring Valley. I don't remember how much it was, but it couldn't have been too much cuz I'm kind of a cheapy... lol

Thanks! My doctor wanted me to replace my B1 with a B-Complex but I'm sure he meant one that had B1 in it in addition to the other Bees! I'll search a bit more and find one that has it in it. Thanks for letting me/us know that it exists in that form. Cool! Kathy

Hi I have been taking the GNC B-12 1000 mcg sugar free w/folic acid sublingual every day and have not noticed any energy boost whatsoever.....I do have Dr. visit tomorrow and am going to ask about Biotin and Zinc,I am hypothyroid and take .125 mcg everyday,I already have thin/fine hair that can fall out when my Synthroid dosage is not right. My concern is this stuff all costs $$$$,how much are we overtaking to compensate for the malabsorbption? Robin

I was told to take 1/4 of a B1 a day and then 1 sublinqual 1000 mcg B12 every other day. Now that I'm a month post op my doctor is dropping the B1 and wants me to take a B-50 Complex along with continuing my B12. Kathy

I'm taking Twinlab, sublingual B-12 (5000mcg) once/week. But I'm seriously considering taking it twice a week because I'm tired quite a bit. I go see my surgeon Tuesday and I'm going to ask him about taking it more than once/week which is what he told me. Michelle Open RNY - 5/3/05 327/289/175
