Forget the plateaus, forget the monotonous full liquids, forget the darned scale. Let's focus on some positives! If you have wow moments, let's hear them... My wow moments: 1. A fellow bariatric patient gave me a bunch of her old clothes when I was pre-op. Back then, I could barely zip up the size 28 pants. Tried again four weeks post-op... oops, skipped right over the 28s. I'm wearing 26 pants now (which my husband notes are baggier than they were two weeks ago), and a REGULAR WOMEN'S XL TOP. Just had to yell that last bit. 2. I moved the car seat up one notch, so now I can actually reach the clutch pedal without using my toes and straining. My left calf suddenly hurts a lot less than it used to.

My wow moments... The week after surgery (I had lost 32 lbs pre-op but really never "saw" it) a few things happened: 1. My bath towel actually went around my body and I could hook it so it didn't fall off and there was no gap exposing my *parts*! 2. I looked in the mirror and saw a much thinner face! 3. I delved into my closet on Memorial day and was shocked to find that clothing that I thought was too small for me was actually too big! Imagine that! 4. I'm now wearing women's size 18 slacks down from 24/26 and anywhere from an XL to a 1X top from a 3X. 5. My husband and I went to 3 big events this last weekend: local county fair (not agriculture - live music, crafts, rides, etc), Celtic festival and Six Flags (my company picnic was there on Sunday). We did a lot of walking at each event. Last year at this time my husband wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes walking around. He weighed 450 lbs. His surgery was last August and he is down to 251 - on the edge of double century club. And me being 50+ lbs now since my consult...well, I have alot more stamina even being only 3 weeks post-op. Life is just so very much better already and this is only the beginning! Kathy

It is indeed time for wow moments! Here goes nothing: 1. My mother-in-law, YES, my mother-in-law saw me at my niece's recital and actually said, "Oh wow, did you lose some weight! You look good." She NEVER compliments me. We don't get a long too well and my hubby told me not to mention surgery to her because she wouldn't "get it" so she has no clue! But hey, this is hard work too! 2. My favorite favorite pair of capri jeans (they are so worn) are big on me. They were falling at my dr's appt. today. Guess I'll have to find a new pair! 3. Someone said I looked skinny! Now I'm 70 pounds from goal, but hey, I'll take it! 4. Oh, I went from Morbidly Obese to Severely Obese to Just Plain Ol' Obese in 5 weeks!!! Those are wow moments for me!

YEAH! *I can cross my legs - started about a week ago!! *I have dropped a size! In pants (was a VERY tight 28W and now in 26W) in tops (was 26/28 or 3X now 22/24 and 2X) *I have a nightgown that always had a 'boob bump' and a 'belly bump'. Well, the other night I put it on and I only had the BOOB BUMP!! I didn't have the second bump! It just fell from the boobs ever so gracefully! *I notice a tremendous difference in my face and shoulders. *I walked to my husband's work the other day (a little over a mile - uphill a good portion of the way) and was only slightly winded - pre-op I would have NEVER made it all the way. *I actually WANT to exercise now, I find myself sitting on the couch going "Hmm...I think I'd like to go take a walk!" Amazing. That's just what I thought of right off the top of my head - I know there are more, but that's it for the moment!

Good post! Like you, I moved my car seat up a notch. Woohoo! My work clothes are getting noticiably looser and some pants I can slide off without unbuttoning/zipping My face is much thinner looking My SKIN is much clearer and less ruddy and looks much better My rings are getting loose My feet don't hurt as bad at the end of the day in a certain pair of shoes My tee-shirts don't stretch over my stomach anymore but sort of "hang" they way I always wanted them too My libido is back from a year-long hiatus!

My best WOW moment so far happened just the other day. My husband and I were at a hotel and decided to use the pool. He went down first. When I arrived in my bathing suit (the same one from last summer) he said "WOW! You look great! That suit looks so much better on you, I didn't realize how much you were changing til just now!" That was a nice feeling!

wow moments, hmmmm well I have only lost 32 lbs + 8 before surgery. 1) I can see in my face the difference ( no second ***** 2) I am down a pant size to 16's ( I only own one pair, my closet is full of 12's and 14's from about 3-4 years ago ) 3) my 16 year old step son said " wow, you're getting skinny!" same kid who over the last few years of weight gain has pointed out to me every spot where it came on at! 4) My feet dont swell and hurt in some of my strappy shoes anymore 5) I can look down and see my feet because my stomach isnt in the way anymore. I am hoping for bigger wow moments by the end of July! chylene 290/258/145

Only three weeks out and here goes!!! 1. MOST IMPORTANT.....I can now wipe/shower/clean myself without grunting or struggling!!!! 2. The bone spurs on the bottom of my feet no longer give me fits. 3. I am down one pant size to size 26W and can wear my nursing uniforms which I purchased just before my weight gain. 4. I am still obsessed with food but know I cannot eat it or I will become unhappily in pain. Dawn
