Pro-stat

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this. The website for it is http://www.pro-stat.info/ It has 15 grams of protein in 1 oz. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it was fine. Has anyone else tried this or asked their doctor about this? It's kind of thick and has an OK taste to it. I'm one of those people that cannot tolerate anything but Carnation Instant Breakfast which only has about 12 grams of protein in an 8oz shake. I figure if I can stomach 1 oz 4 times a day of this stuff, I'll be doing a whole lot better than I am now!

Hi Heather its amazing a friend of mine just informed me of this product yesterday. I am going to give it a try. Like you I can't do the protein drinks. I figure 1 oz of anything for 15 grms of protein is doable. Morgan

So far, I have only tried the cherry flavor. I have found that if I mixed it in 3-4 oz of applesauce, it actually isn't that bad. I think that part of the problem is that it is so thick. That's why I mix it up with something to kind of thin it out. I have to say that I am doing SO much better since I started taking it. My energy level has increased dramatically! I'm going to try the orange mist flavor next. I really hope that you find that this works for you!

I have both the cherry and the butter pecan flavors. They both taste horrible, but the butter pecan is worse than the cherry. I have to plug my nose when I drink it, but it is a quick way to get 15 grams of protein in. I don't use it all the time, only when the day is almost up and I realize I haven't gotten nearly enough protein in.

I bought the cherry flavor Pro-Stat 64 at my surgeon's office, I and I think it is Am I being clear here. I tried it at the office, but as I had just had my incision site seroma opened a few minutes before, I attribute the purchase to being in shock. The receptionist at the office said the cherry was much better than the pecan. Makes me wonder how bad the pecan can be. I do not have any idea how to get through this bottle. I even put it in V-8 juice, thinking that might be strong enough to cover up the taste/smell, but it was even worse. I would NOT buy this product again, and would recommend that anyone taste it *at the full strength* recommended before they buy it. Maybe I'll have to try the applesauce, but it seems like a good waste of applesauce. It was so bad it made the heavier whey protein shakes taste good again. Your mileage may vary, Debra M.

I bought the butter pecan at the surgeon's office, thinking that it would be better than the cherry (I was anticipating cherry to be like cough syrup.) Unfortunately, 2 ounces later, I've dumped my $30 down the sink. Blech!!!!!

Heather, I've tried the Pro-stat 64 cherry, butter pecan, & orange.... all of them are barf-worthy! They are very thich syrup like, with a strong taste. However, it's much easier to get 2 or 3 servings of the Pro-stat down, than a big, barf-o-rama protein shake! I put 1 oz of it in an old nite-quil measuring cup, gulp it down in one drink. You'll quiver for a moment.... but, for me, it was better than nursing a protein shake for 40 minutes. Maybe you could also try the pre-bottled, Zero Carb Isopure, in the 20oz glass bottle. It has 40 grams of protein, & i split 1 bottle up into 2 different "meals". It taste similar to Crystal lite... i like the grape, & fruit punch, & i add a packet of splenda to the bottle. It's in the fridge cooler section at GNC. Don't buy the huge gallon canister of the Isopure mixes, it's not the same. Good luck! Mike
