Hey all, I am 6 weeks out, and I have been walking about 6 miles a week for the past 3 weeks. The walks are very brisk, and I get my heartrate up. This weekend I am very sore in my lower abdomen area. Do you think this is from the exercise, I've never had this feeling before. Aliya

I'm only 3 weeks out but have been exercising for the past week. My lower abdomen is sore as well (never felt the feeling before either) but I just guessed it was because I hadn't been working out in forever. I hope it's nothing to worry about. Keep exercising,(if it's not to painful) maybe it will pass. Take care, Lynette

Hi Aliya, at about 3 weeks out I was also very sore but more so on my left side. It got worse day by day. My surgeon thinks I did most likely overdo it and I could have aggravated some scar tissue. When you walk you really use all those abdominal muscles. I had to really back off the walking for a while and recently have restarted. I'm just taking it easy. Hope you feel better. If it gets worse always call your surgeon.

Hi Aliya, I am as of tomorrow 3 weeks out and have the same problem. My doctor said its because my abdomen is healing and I need to cut the walks down and not work so hard. I was trying to do a mile a day in about 25min with keeping my heartrate up. I now break it down to 10-15min increments. I also found wearing a back brace that covers my stomach really helps for support and less pain. If you try the brace make sure its not on tight. Sabrina
