I just had tuna fish with light mayo on Whole Wheat Ritz crackers. WOW was it good. I haven't eaten an entire meal in three days. It's been in the 90's and very humid here in Michigan and I just couldn't seem to get anything down. Yesterday I only got about 13 g of protein, but I was able to drink about 80oz of water!!! So today I used SF koolaide and added 1/2 scoop of protein powder to it. That was good too. I had a couple of bites of fish for lunch and then these tuna cracker for dinner. I'll have another protein drink before bed. I'm not losing any weight, but I weigh every day and if the protein isn't there I don't lose. So, hopefully I'll get more in soon!!! Laurie - down 24 lbs.

That's one of my favorite things - tuna fish and crackers! Also, the little 3 oz cans of chicken are good, I eat one of those with maybe a slice of cheese, garlic powder, and pepper. The little thing of chicken has 15 g. of protein.

MMmmm, I love tuna! I'm on pureed stage for the next few weeks and I love tuna pureed. I do chicken salad and egg salad too pureed on a few crackers. They are all very filling. I'm just so glad I'm tolerating everything well. I haven't really lost any weight this week according to my scale but it's really off from my doctor's scale so I'll have to wait until Wednesday. Hang in there, I'm sure we'll both start shedding more weight soon.

This is a simple recipe I use: 6 hard boiled eggs mayonnaise( I don't use Mir. Whip-it has sugar) Salt and pepperto taste. A little paprika I add a little pickle (not relish cuz of sugar) but you might try without first I do know some who add a little pickle juice instead Pre-op I separate the yolks from the whites. I mash the yolks with mayo 1 tbsp. at a time until it's very smooth and creamy...start with a little at first. Then I add chopped egg whites with the seasonings and chill for a while before serving. Since I'm pureed now I just threw in the eggs in the processor first until the were fine, added mayo little at a time, a tad of pickle and my seasonings. I gave it to hubby and daughter on toast and they didn't mind it was so processed. I just ate it on a few thin crakers and was content. I hear lots of people don't tolerate eggs very much even further out post-op but I'm so glad my pouch isn't picky! Best of luck to you!

Laurie, From what I've heard...a plateau around 3 weeks post-op is fairly common. Basically your body taking a breather and a little time to catch up! Definitely work on getting that protein in. 13 grams ain't gonna cut it! Good job on the water! Best wishes, Kathy

Hey Laurie, I was just wondering when the weightloss should pick up again. I am MEGA frustrated at this plateau which has only been a week but seems like forever. Does protein REALLY help your weightloss? Oprah's weightloss man said that contrary to popular belief, protein does not promote weightloss but is food for your muscles so you don't lose muscle during fat loss. He said weightloss is about calories ingested and calories burned. I know why "we" need protein (muscles and hairloss to name a few) but if you don't get enough in will you not lose weight? Before I could find the right protein drink, I know I was not getting enough protein. But now all is well. Thanks, Lynette

I just started the tuna fish with crackers, too. A few days earlier than my phase allows, but I was getting desparate... I haven't done to much of the crackers, maybe a total of 3 over 2 days, but they were HEAVEN. I buy the little tuna kits with the light mayo, etc. and they make 2 meals a piece for me. The baby eats the leftover crackers...

LOL! It's so funny that you mention your baby eating the left over crackers. I think my son and husband are LOVING that I had this surgery - they're getting so many of my left overs it's not even funny. My son has eaten more halves of protein bars in the last week or so than he's ever had and he's quite happy, LOL!!
