I can't stay off the scale!!

I KNOW this is bad for me, psycologically. I'm on the scale almost every time I go into the bathroom (and when drinking over 64 oz, that's a lot.) I haven't lost a pound since the first day of full liquids, and I'm starting to find myself NOT eating at all (and going back to clear liquids) in an effort to get the loss going again. I'm still drinking my protein shakes though... I took the scale and buried in the closet, but I just got it out again! It's not my scale, so I can't tra**** but I'm driving myself nuts!! Thanks for listening to me freak out! LOL Jasmina 275/255/150

Jasmina I too was on the scales all the time for the first 3 weeks...then I have gotten back to work and busy all the time which helped staying off the scale...I was getting discouraged when I didn't drop a pound or two...So I have decided to weigh myself only one time a week. I'm sure you'll get there too. Patti 225/180/125????

Throw the scale away, put it in a far away closet, something. I had my husband put it in the car so that the only time I can get on it is when the car is home and I have to go out to the car to get it. I don't use mine, though, I will step on it and it will say one number then step on it again a second later and it will be a completely different number, LOL! Do something to get it out and away from you!

Put your scale in the trunk of your car. Don't bring it out often. Kathy

I hear ya !!!!! I'm the same way. Today my son told me he was going to take the scale away from me because I haven't been losing and get depressed. If the scale isn't yours then give it back to whoever you borrowed it from !!!! It's a nasty beast and we can't let it control us !!! Jean 255/239/150

I am with ya Jean! We are very close in weights both preop and current - so I guess we both arent way off! Darn I wish this would hurry along!! I am lucky however - I have a little "pouch-o-steel" - this puppy can handle ANYTHING I throw at her!!! Good luck everyone - IT WILL COME OFF!! 259/232/125

I've been wondering how someone close to my starting weight was doing. Very much the same Makes me feel better. LOL I was up all night peeing and this morning the scale was down 2 lbs. I'm not getting excited. The way this is going I might have gained those back by tomorrow. I have the same pouch-o-steel. Not sure if that's good or bad. Haven't been sick from anything...except roast beef hash and that's only because it was too dry and I ate too fast. Jean Lap RNY 5/24/05 255/236/150

I got a great tip from my SIL. I have my husband take it away from me and bring it out once a week so I can weigh myself and while I am showering, he takes it away. Right now I am weighing daily, but once that the weight slows down I will continue my previous ritual. I hope this helps. Bethannie
