Hi Joe: I'm a night-time grazer as well and it's a real struggle. I like to read in bed before going to sleep and usually had some type of snack at that time. Now when I pick up a book my head wants a snack !!! And water doesn't cut it !! But I'm working on it !!
I'm with you on the exercise too. It's too hot to walk !! (I'm in PA) I'm waiting for my 3 week check with surgeon on the 20th and hoping to get cleared to go back to Curves.
I can't believe you take that many vitamins !!!!!! Do you really need all those? Is the support group through your surgeons office? Just curious.
Enjoy the female summer attire....

Well mine was on May 25th I am down 29lbs 15 days out today. Knock on wood no problems yet. But Its kinda fun to see if I can tolerate food. But I am scared to eat stuff. I eat Cottage cheese, Turkey Burger (size of a silver dollar), not much else I crave water. Silly huh. I do feel a little guilty though eating scared I wont keep losing. Well I am off to the gym. love to all....CARRIE
Hey there everyone. I had my surgery May 31st, so I'm 9 days out. My scale tells me that I'm down 21 pounds (since I've been on the thing at least twice a day.. I know, I know..) and I'm very pleased with that, although I don't notice a physical difference.
Today I'm having a rather blah day. I'm on full liquids until next Tuesday, and nothing is appetizing me anymore. I don't feel the urge to eat anything. And let's not even TALK about protein. Since moving to full liquids two days ago, I've hit both days way over my protein goal of 75g. Today.. I just can't even imagine the thought of drinking a shake. I get nauseated just thinking about it. And I haven't thrown up at all.
I too feel guilty about eating.. I know that I'm going to get very down when the quick loss slows down. For now though, I'm just focusing in on my fluids and trying to find a protein drink that doesn't make me gag. I wasn't milk person pre-op.. I've had more milk the last three days than I have in the last 6 months!!!
Anyway, glad to hear that all are doing well.. keep in touch!!

OK I'm not an official May baby but my surgery was April 29th and i'll be 6 weeks out tomorrow. My starting weight was 353 and as today i'm down to 297.5 I'm eating alot of solid foods now at this moment i'm eating a lean pocket well nibbling on it. Lets see what else do I eat?? Lastnight I had a baked potato with ff sour cream, and low fat margarine, and some baked fish my hubby made YUM YUM!!!! I tolerate pork very well. My hubby made a pork loin in the crockpot, and nibbled on that, made his famous greens with bacon nibbled on that. I'm eating frui****ermelon, peaches, apples, peanut butter, bread occaisonally, potatoes, green beans, chicken, alittle beef, yogart, oatmeal, grits, sf ice cream, popsicles, etc. I've been lucky I tolerate everything I eat except fried tater tots see my post on that!! I'm still lacking on the energy due to lack of vitamins, but otherwise i'm doing good. Keep up the good work May babies we're all losers and i'm soooooooooooooooooo happy i've lost 55lbs that I will never have to lose again!!!! If you're frustrated or hate what you can eat or lack there of don't worry it does get better I promise!!!

Well, I am 2 and a half weeks out and I am doing o.k. I still have this back sensation at times. My doc thinks it's gas and will go away. I have this sensation when I eat and lately, with cold things. I haven't had any nausea episodes, thank-God. I just wish this back pain would go away. I am eating very little and it's mainly deli slices of turkey and ham. I did try grits crushed with bacon and it was devine. That is my favorite breakfast foods. Of course I did not eat much of it. Sometimes it is a daily struggle to find things to eat, but I'm doing my best.
Hi Brenda & all other May babies!
I had my surgery on May 16th, just a little over 3 weeks ago. I am down 19.5 lbs., but like many of you don't really see the difference, except by how my clothes are fitting and my rings are spinning on my fingers for the first time in 5+ years.
Overall, I'm doing well. I had no complications from my surgery, which is a good thing. I transistioned to soft solids late last week, but am finding it harder to enjoy that I expected. I really have to force myself to CHEW...CHEW...CHEW...SLOW...SLOW...SLOW.
I am having problems getting my daily water intake in also, it makes me feel very sick, so I am trying to stay with fruit juices and crystal light products. Also, having problems with the protein shakes. I did very well, but like ????? I am SICK of milk based shakes, YUCK!
I am trying to get my protein in with my foods as much as possible to limit the shakes. I have tried tuna salad, pinto beans, navy beans, mashed pototoes, several different types of the Lipton noodles. I also started with cheese crackers with peanut butter today and they were really good. My favorite right now is string cheese and also the turkey/ham & cheese lunchables (19 g protein), but can only eat about a 1/3 at a time.
Glad to hear how everyone is doing. Lets all keep in touch!
Have a good evening,
Kimber
Hey everyone! Glad to see so many posts with good info. I'm May 23 and am still on pureeds. I'm eating refried beans, cheese and anything with a good broth (gumbo, bean juice, gravy). I never thought I could be satisfied with just the flavor of food. I don't feel like I'm missing anything at all. I'm 20 lbs down and doing a 30 min workout tape daily. This plateau is killing me and I'm glad to know that I'm not craaaazzzzyyyy for thinking that I'm the only one this surgery won't work for. It makes me nervous to eat until I feel full because I think I won't lose the weight. I know that's stupid but after 20 years of diets not working and regaining weight it's going to take a while for my mind to catch up with what I've done. God Bless you all....you guys make my day!!!! Hi Brenda:
May 24th surgery here and going GREAT !!! So good that my Mother asked me today "are you sure they did surgery?" LOL Nothing has made me sick...not sure if that's good or bad. I get soooooooo tired, soooo quickly though..and that's frustrating. But today was the best day yet. I'm trying to add a little more protein to my diet and see if that helps. Bariatric coordinator at my surgeon's told me it's normal and will pass. Somehow the 5th or 6th week after surgery seems to be the magic time.

I'm doing very well, but still so TIRED and gained weight last week (doc said it was due to severe dehydration -- body hangs on to water after?)
Worried about that, and the fact that I can eat whatever I want. Just had a quarter english muffin w/ peanutbutter, for instance, and ate it rather fast, considering. Big difference between week 3 and 4 in that respect.
Worried that I'm broken and have finished with the weight loss part.
