When oh When will it start again..... i know im doing okay since I was a lightweight to begin with... but its VERY frustrating!! ... Just needed to whine for a minute or two with some folks who know the ropes... hey maybe by posting it my "body" will get the hint.. (if only it worked that way). Adios folks Karen

Hey Karen- I had surgery the same day as you. I lost for the first 2 weeks and as of last Monday I was down 28 lbs. Guess what? I haven't lost a single pound in the last 6 days. I know that misery loves company, so I hope this helps! Seriously though, from what I understand, we are "adjusting" and it will start up again soon. Just keep doing what your doctor told you to do! And congratulations on the weight you HAVE lost. Best, Dina

I feel your pain Karen. I had the same experience. Lost the initial 20 in 2.5 weeks, then s-l-o-w-ed to a snail's pace. I'm also a so-called light weight. I am frustrated too. I finally put the scale away for a week (it was a struggle) and got on this morning. Lost 3.5 pounds. Now I know that's great and all, but I'm averaging it over 2 weeks and saying to myself "what the #@$^&!" I believe it is our bodies adjusting. I also think that perhaps I need to add in more protein because maybe my body is going into starvation mode. Don't know if that helps but at least you are not alone. Merril

I won't yell because I'm doing the same thing. Had my surgery on 5/24 and lost 16 pounds within the first week and a half. Since then? NADDA!!! I'm trying so hard to avoid the scale, but it's like a disease. Have to admit that, even though I'm so sorry there are others going through this, it helps to hear it. I know I'm not alone and that maybe this is normal. Jean Lap RNY 5/24/05 255/239/150

Hi. My surgical date was 5/23. I've lost about 20lbs and will weigh in tonight again at TOPS. Reading the board is depressing and inspiring... I am only getting maybe 80 calories in a day... and no liquids. I'm horribly bummed out and can't seem to force myself to get up and do anything. I came out of the hospital with a sore throat, and STILL hurts like razor blades to swallow anything... I suppose I should put something through the G-tube, but I'm just too depsondent to do it. I'm dizzy and itchy and frustrated. I hope I'll be glad I did this soon. THanks for letting me join your whine. SHannon

I want to add I am going through the same thing. Had surgery on 5/23/05 lost 21 pounds the first two weeks but now I am at a stand still. I have not gained or lost but find my front of the abdomen is slightly swollen. I know I am barely getting in 100 calories a day so it must just be the body adjusting to the change. I do believe I have lost inches as many of my pants and shirts are beginning to fell rather loose, and I can almost see my neck once more =)) Dawn
