I'm down fifty pounds! I lost 32 lbs pre-op and now 18 lbs post-op (16 days) for a total of the big 5-0! LOL! I really feel and see it. I'm wearing much smaller sizes...into an XL or 1X from 3Xes. Best of all, I feel great! Kathy lap RNY 5/20/2005~ 5'7.75"~ 276/244/226/?? (consult/preop/curr/goal)

Congrats!!! I'm with you. I had surgery on 5/17 and including my pre-op weight loss, I'm down 55 lbs. (20 pre-op, and 35 since my surgery). I too am noticing things. I had to drill new holes in my belt. The steering wheel is now several inches away from my belly instead of right up against it. All the stuff I hoped would happen is beginning.

You know, Tom...I just love that there are so many non-scale ways to measure progress. First for me, was seeing a smaller face/neck in the mirror. Second was fitting into clothing that I didn't think would fit and even having some too big for me. Getting the seatbelt in the car on a heck of a lot easier. All sorts of stuff already! Congrats to you, as well! You are doing great! Kathy

Grates on the big fiddie! I went in to see my doc thur, because of small iritations on my open incesion(sp) line, and found out that im at the fiddie mark as well. Mine is all post op, losses, i was a bad boy and went into surgery having put on 10 lbs. So i lost that 10 and another 40 in 3 1/2 weeks but then again im in the 550 range, so its melting off. wish i was down into the xl and 1x sizes, maybe by this time next year.

Hey Joe... Congrats on your 50! You never know. Today is my husband's 10 month post-op and he has gone from 450 to 256 in that timeframe. He is wearing XL now and feels wonderful! Be shocked and amazed. That first 100 will be off before you know it! Kathy

Thanks, Joanne! Keep working on getting the fluids and especially protein in. It does make a difference. Believe it or not, more is better in our cases at this early point on. Best wishes, Kathy
