Hi everyone I am doing great weight wise, but it is the DIET THAT IS KILLING ME. I had surgery the 27th, was homme on the 28th, went back to work, manage dental office, wednesday. SO far I am down 14 pounds 7 ounces. I am having a very difficult time with anything sweet. The food all around me is difficult too. So, I decided to try to go for a walk when everyone is eatting, etc. What has worked for you all, and if you had RNY lap, what was your post op diet plan Thanks Melissa

I'm 5 weeks out and starting to eat solids but I had the open rny so i'm still healing. glad to hear you're doing so good keep up the good work, but make sure you get enough rest. Kriss

Wow Melissa - the lap has done well with you!!! Back to work already. I had open on the 19th and I can barely drive around town with out being too sore and tired. But I refuse to take more meds, so I have to just take it easy. I don't have a problem with what everyone else is eating (right now the kids just microwaved some popcorn) but I'm having a problem getting food in me! So far today I've only drank 35 oz of water. I was getting it all in easily. My protein isn't enough either. I hate this pureed stage and I just can handle eating chicken that's been blended up! But this will all pass and a month from now, we'll be eating "regular" foods and people will be noticing that we're shrinking!!!!! Wow - that will make this yuckie part worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep you chin up - this too will pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I had my lapband done a month ago! The first few days andd up to 21/2 weeks were easy, now its hard for me and I seem to be having trouble sticking with the diet. Still some problems with regular or solid food. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good and soon this will be past us and not so much protein drink and puree. Dena

Hello Mellissa, I also had my surgery (lap RNY) on the 27th. I was not out of the hosp. until the 29th and my dr. wont let me go back to work for another week. So, good job you! I am still on liquids and it sucks because I have trouble getting in protein with only drinks. So I am looking forward to seeing my dr. Mon and seeing if I can have some real food pureed or not I am looking forward to it. Good luck with your diet! Meg
