Hi there, I'm at the end of my 1st week post op and this is my first visit here. I felt pretty lousy most of the past 2 days. Went shopping for some more of my liquid diet and when I got back all I wanted to do was collapse. I need to find some thing with a lot of protein that I can all to my food. Today I'm doing pretty good, and feeling great. Think I'm going down to the Indiana Dunes and walk a bit. I have a TOPS meeting later and looking forward to the weigh in to see if I've lost any weight yet. tom

Hey Tom, It's completely normal to be exausted espeacially just one week out you're body is adjusting to the major change you've just put it through. I'll be 5 weeks out tomorrow and I still deal with bouts of exaustion. I'm sure you will heal faster than I have since I had the open rny but it still takes time. My first week out I was drinking my atkins advantage shakes where I got 20 grams of protein for an 11 oz shake. I also went to full liquids where I was beginning to eat more substantial foods. It does get better just go with the flow don't push yourself too hard too fast you'll get better everyday. wishing you the best of luck. Kriss

Thanks Kriss. I've had a number of abdominal surgeries, but this is the first lap one, and waht a difference. I did just get back from walking a mile, and then doing some more shopping and really feel good, although a little tired. Nothing compaired to the last couple of days. I really like those Adkins's Shakes. I bought some Slim-Fast one at the same time, but there is no comparision. I hope I have at least one Adkins left for lunch today!!

Hi Tom, Welcome to this fabulous site and congratulations on your surgery! Things will only continue to get better for you....I thought the first week was the roughest. But you will have on and off days for a few weeks. Take care! Caren 269/246/???

Hey there Tom! I'm the leader of TOPS #WI 1104 Marinette. Thought maybe they'd ask me to step down because of thesurgery, but they are being so so so great! I've lost 12.5 lbs since last weigh in on May 18th. Hopefully that will be enough ... support.. cause today I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself. I hope your weigh in is good! Shannon
