Anyone else having trouble with everything?
Man, it just seems like nothing feels good going down. I'm now 15 days post-op and nearly everything I eat or drink still feels nasty in my stomach. Yesterday, I hardly ate anything because of it. Today, I've forced myself to eat a little more, but it just feels yuck in my stomach. Not extreme nausea, but just this yucky feeling.

Please be careful. After your Pizza overeat and whatever the other one was you need to be sure your stomach is okay. Sometimes you just have to do things because you are told to. Like right now I am drinking a disgusting 20gm chocolate drink. It will be over in a few minutes and I will be done with it. You can do it! Jen
Tom, it is really, really hard. Keep hanging in there. I am nearly a month out and it is scary how hard it is. The only thing that saves me is I am deathly afraid to throw up. So afraid that some days I don't even eat. Pathetic, whereas before, I would eat and eat and eat and feel like I was going to throw up, just never did. Too bad or I would not be in the postition I am in now, afraid to throw up. I also found that if I prepare the food, I tend not to be as hungry, so I am cooking away and then sit down or go do something else. Get in on the cooking, this might help. It is a day by day agonizing trial. Hang in there, you are not alone, although you feel like it, I know I do. Thanks for the post, confirms that I am not alone. Now if I could choke down these damn protein shakes, I would be in business. They are god awful.

I'm running into that with the milk-based protein shakes. I can barely force myself to drink them. I can get all my protien in without them (Thank goodness for Nectar!) but without the milk, I can't get my calorie level up to even 400.
I've been trying to get at least one of the milk-based shakes in a day but it's hard. Otherwise, I eat, mechanically, cuz I have too, kind of like taking my vitamins...

I saw my nutritionist today for my first post-op appointment. The question is: could I be doing this food thing any more incorrectly? Its no wonder I'm feeling nauseous all the time. Turns out, my "chewing is as good as pureeing" isn't true at all. I've been eating the wrong things and things it turns out I'm not supposed to be having. I'm not getting enough protein or enough liquids. I mean, every single thing I'm supposed to be doing, I've been doing wrong.
The good news is, my attitude is right, and these were all honest mistakes, not any effort on my part to skirt the rules. However, I must, must, must get on the right track. Tonight's supper of fat free broccoli/cheese soup is a good beginning.
Hey, just to comment on the protein shakes. I love Isopure creamy vanilla. Every morning for breakfast I take a scoop of isopure, a piece of bananna or strawberry that I have already cut up and froze, a packet of Splenda, a splash of vanilla extract, and an ice cube. I pulse it with 6oz of water or milk in the blender so it doesn't get too much air. This has been my lifesaver with protein. 30 grams to start the day with! The only thing I can't eat for some reason is eggs. Go figure. Amy
