its ok to back out!!!
Ummm OK basically my heart was not ready. If that's what I can call it. My soul my heart my whatever was not ready. If there is one thing I know that all of us can agree on here in this website is If your not ready then your not ready. It's very important that when we make this decision to feel good about it. Not just this decision but, in any choice we make about anything. This one probably more importantly because it's a very big one. A drastic physical anatomy change. Now, please don't get me wrong. Im not downing the surgery in any way. This is a HUGE blessing in thousands of people's life's. But, speaking for me and my choice is I did not want to sell my self short and have their be a way that I did not try before surgery. Surgery of course is the last resort. Any bariatric Doc will tell you that. That's why you have to fall in the right category for the surgery in the first place. That's also another reason they go over how many diets you've tried and how long you tried them for and what the out come was. Its not just wham bam here's your surgery. You must be 100 pounds overweight. I myself of course speaking for myself; feel in my every being that I have not tried hard enough to loose my weight on my own yet without surgery. This post is for people having second thought's and its ok damit. LOL Janna S.
it is ok to back out but also be aware that it is not a walk in the park after you have the surgery so I dont want you to think that because we had the surgery that we took the easy way out, because it has been hard work and will continue to be hard for us also. I hope you do not regret changing your mind about the surgery because the day before mine which was 5/18/05 I almost backed out and I am so happy that I did go through with it.
I totally agree with you its no walk in any park after surgery. I had my gallbladder out a year ago boy was that painful. Your right it ain't easy either. I totally don't regret my decision with trying to loose my weight without the bypass surgery. Its such a huge decision to make. I am starting a high protein medically supervised weight loss program hopefully in June. Ty for being so concerned for my decision. I am so glad I stuck to my guns and went with my gut on this elective surgery. I still would like to check out the lap band. My surgeon asked me the day of the physical if I considered the band. Well, my response was "I didn't think my insurance covered it?" he said "It does now." So, we'll see. Thank-You again!! I'll keep posting on my profile from time to time. Janna S.
