Congratulations Kevin! I am 6 days post op and I'm doing very well. I hope you have as good as experience as I did. I got out of the hospital after 3 days. It is a real shocker how hard it is to get a few sips of anything down. But, we must be patient. We have (and you will) have a stomach of a newborn. Be patient, your new life is awaiting you! Lori

Kevin, I am so happy for you! The surgery defenitely changes everything. You will be surprised the will power you have afterwards. The stumbling blocks we all have to go through to get approved and the waiting for your date to arrive, maks you realize just how important this is to you. You will do great and I am praying for an uneventful surgery for you. I am 3 weeks post op and doing well. My only complications were after surgery in the hospital. I had my lungspartially collapse, had fever and was allergic to all the good pain meds as I found out the hard way. But other than that I am doing well and you will too. Keep us posted after your surgery. I would like to stay in touch. Chylene 290/267/145

Congratulations, Kevin. I am just starting out and I have my informational meeting June 7th. I can't wait for the surgery. It will be nice to be able to walk, shower, etc. without getting out of breath. No one knows these feeling like all of us do. We will not take our new bodies for granted. I wish you all the best. Email me and keep me posted if you would like. I would love to hear from you. Cathy

Congrats!Congrats!Congrats! I am soooo excited for you. You sound as excited as I was the weekend before mine (last weekend). My surgery went extremly well with no complications. The pain was minimal. You are in my prayers. You will continue to be blessed and all will be well. Sounds like you have family support and that is really critical. The best advice I was given was from a nurse at the hospital. She said "just follow your doctors orders" "please don't rush anything, even if you feel like you can handle it. " Just always follow the rules YOU were given." Good luck and looking forward to hearing from you next week. Congratulations Kevin !!! You'll do great !!! Just remember to follow all the orders you're given !! and don't hesitate to tell the nursing staff if you're miserable in any way. I found out...they can't read minds. Let us know when you get home. Jean Lap RNY 5/24/05 255/245/150
