I had similar problems/symptoms, Debs. I would have EXPLOSIVE gas (were the windows actually rattling? ), but little or nothing to show for it....the proverbial "ghost poopie". I also know about the "everything else is repulsive". For me this was a short time period. The worst was the protein shakes. What tasted lovely before surgery nearly makes me vomit now, I hate it that much. Then I switched over to drinking 2 or 3 16-oz. glasses of skim milk with unflavored whey protein added and SF Hershey's chocolate syrup. I'm drinking a glass of chocolate milk and getting 28g of protein! All that to say...I've been there, and it'll get better! Hang in there!

Well this has been MOST informative. You all have answered all the questions that I asked the "professionals" and could never get a straight answer from. I now know that I am quite normal....THANKS!!!

Walk Walk Walk.... keep moving and it will come out... my gas pain went from my stomach to my shoulder... Damn it hurt! I had surgery May 12 andmy hubby had it May26... we need to really push ourselves but walking does the trick.

I had a gas problem too. My doctor said it's because they pump your belly full of CO2 during the surgery & it has to get out somehow. I was told it can take 1-3 weeks to go away. in my case it was endless burping. At almost 4 weeks post op it has now dissapated. Only burp if I drink too quickly or too much at once.
