2 Weeks Post-Op
I did liquids only for the first week & was told that if I was tolerating well I could graduate to soft mushy, although I pushed the envelope to 1 or 2 Ritz crackers with very thin small pieces of cheddar cheese & found it not only tolerable but a cracker helps with hiccups & burping at least for me. Believe me, when I tell you the solids I eat are extremely small amounts, take tiny bites and eat slowly. Good luck
Hi Maureen...we're surgery buddies. Congratulations to the both of us on our 2 week mile marker! I hope that everything has gone well for you so far. As for me...I'm still sore on the tummy (surgery incisions)! I am just ready to get out there and live!, so it gets kinda depressing to not be in the full swing of thing just yet; but, I know it is coming!!! I've also lost 14 pounds (as of this past monday; hadn't weighed since).
Once again, congratulations!!!!!
P.S. I'm not eating solid foods...just started on noodle soup, mashed potatoes, grits, and oatmeal!
Also, do you have a walking regemine yet?
Every once in a while my port site gets a bit tender (I had the Lap Band) and basically says "excuse me but SLOW down". I tend to push a little harder than I should in most everything I do, just the way I am, sometimes I pay sometimes not.
I have 2 2-year old Labrador Retrievers and take them walking at least a mile or more every day. I was told no house-cleaning for a month...please with 2 rambuctious dogs, I have already vaccuumed a couple times... being very careful not to use my tummy muscles anymore than than when I walk across the floor. I find the more active I am the faster I heal, the faster I'm back up to speed. You must use caution though not to hurt yourself. Best of luck to you D.C.
