I came home after going to the gym, was hungry so I decided to have tuna with light mayo on a couple crackers. I guess I ate to fast and feel very very full, hick up often...anyone else experience this? Patti

Patti: YES !!! But I'm only 3 days post-op LOL I wasn't thinking about what I was doing and took too large a bit of jello - who knew jello could get stuck !!!!!!!!!! I know my stoma is swollen so things move a little slower right now. Jello hit and just sat there for awhile....GACK !!! Doesn't take too many times of doing this before we learn out lesson. I hiccup all the time! I ate too much (not too fast) today completely by accident. I didn't realize I couldn't tolerate as much as I had, and ended up vomitting 4 times. It was horrible. I always get the hiccups though. What's that about? Take care, Ashleigh

Hiccups are like burping. Eat to fast or in my case if I drink right after I eat I'll hiccup. Gas can get trapped. the further out you get the more you'll know and understand your baby pouch and know what it likes and don't like. We have to learn to eat all over again. Like a baby does at birth. Think about it. Liquids, soft foods and then slowly eating more and more foods. I'm a December 2004 baby but I like to skip around in the different forums and see how others are doing. This is how we learn, right. Donna 338/219 -119

Donna, You are doing great! That is an awesome loss in just 6 monthes!! I can already tell I wont do near as good as you. I am 3 weeks post op and only down -23 lbs. I only lost 2.5 this past week. oh well I am following everything to a T though I cant get in as much liquid as they want, still not doing bad though. Chylene 290/267/150

Thanks, Everyone loses at a different rate so don't compare and beat yourself up. The more you have to lose the quicker it will come off and I was a real heavy weight as you can see 338 pounds. I'm slowing down now which is a good thing as my body is now adjusting and ready to take the slow road and I don't care Donna 338/219 -119

When I drink water to fast I feel it going down and I feel the air bubble coming up and until I burp the air out I feel better. But I too forget that I'm not suppose to gulp! But I've been so thirsy latley. It sure is painful. xoxoxoox Rosie

I burp and hiccup a lot lately too. And not just after eating! Interesting side effect, but I'm glad to have my new pouch!

You are right on target Patti. If I'm not paying close enough attention to how fast/slow I'm eating I get the same thing... lots of little air bubbles; burping and hick-ups. It's definitely a challenge to re-learn our eating habits. Good luck.

I'm a 5/23 surgery and I hick up all the time. At first it was painful but now its just annoying. I assume it's like the others said, gas coming up in other ways than an actual burp. Lynette
