Seroma

Thought I was doing pretty well, but.... it looks like I have a small seroma about halfway down my incision. I had the rest of my staples removed on Wednesday, which was a huge relief. My incision site was very sore and inflamed from the remaining staples. So I didn't notice until last night that there was a hard lump under the incision. It may have been there a while, but I didn't notice it because of the staples. So for now I have to put hot, moist compresses on the area a couple of times a day to see if it drains by itself. If not, I'll have to go to the surgeon's office on Tuesday to have the fluid aspirated out, yuck. The area is getting more painful as the day goes on, so I hope it resolves by itself soon. And, finally the scale has started dropping for me. I have now lost 13 pounds post-op, which added to my pre-op loss makes for a great loss of 45 pounds, Debra M.

OUCH! You'll have to keep us posted on what happens. I hope you don't have to go back in to the surgeon's office! That just sounds painful. There wasn't anything else they could do for you? Congrats on the weight loss!!
