I was bad.

No one yell at me, but I was bad yesterday. I had my surgery May 2 and was told no beef or pasta until at least week 6, and then I may never tolerate them, and that pasta and bread aren't good for me now, anyway. I've been tossing everything I eat with the exception of cottage cheese and fruit. It gets old after 3+ weeks. Anyway, last night I made Chili for my husband and son. Macaroni, beef, tomato sauce and chili beans. Not a lot of beans, or chili powder, because we don't like spicy. Anyway, it smelled soooooo good! I ate a couple of bites and it stayed down fine! I had added some shredded cheddar cheese to the top, as well. I feel bad since I'm not supposed to eat anything that isn't on my list, but after being so depressed over my dog, and not being able to eat for so long, I had a temporary lapse in will power and ate a small bowl of chili. Anyway. Had to come and tell on myself.

Girl, We are not suppose to do that. But I do the same. I got scolded here on board because of it,and I stopped posting because I just thought that I needed support not to get "GROUNDED" but i felt guilty about eating, things seem to stay down whenever I do eat and so I do try different foods here and there. So girl dont feel bad just DO try to stick to you reg. diet plan,I know its hard cuz its hard for me and dont get me wrong I still try eating but I still try to stick to mushy things(I try) but if I want a tast then GOSH DARN IT I WILL. xoxoxoxo just keeping it real Rosie

LOL I DID do what the nutritionist told me to do and I rinsed the meat before hand, which really helped! There was almost no grease (which just the smell of grease about gags me, so maybe I shouldn't have rinsed it? LOL) and we use almost not spice, anyway, because we both get heartburn if we aren't careful. I also use mild chili beans. I'm allowed quite a few things, like chicken, fish, turkey, and such, but my stomach won't tolerate them. I was eating boiled eggs (also on my ok list) but they started getting to where they wouldn't stay down, too. I'm sitting here eating my cottage cheese and pears (in extra light juice) and being good today. My husband was just glad that I finally kept something down! He said a couple of bites wouldn't kill me. I have a massive guilt complex, though. I felt horrible after I ate it. I was full, but felt like doo because I did something I was told not to do. Thanks for the support. I appreciate it.

LMAO I've been bad this week! I snatched the tip off of a piece of my husband's cheese pizza the other night. Hardly any crust, mostly cheese. It was so good! Seems I do better with the stuff I SHOULDN'T have than the things on my list that I CAN have.

I've been trying to take bites of no-no things like ham, grilled cheese sandwich, spaghetti, etc. and then chewing it up and spitting it out. That way I get the taste. Its difficult to do and last night with the spaghetti, the swallow reflex got a bit too much and I swalled about 20% of the bite. I got scared, but nothing bad happened. It made me realize that I cannot cheat. Either I change or I don't. But there's no halfway for me. I am amazed at what people say they can eat only a couple of weeks out from their surgery. It makes me want to try things, but I just keep remembering my commitment to follow what they told me to do so that I maximize my weight loss. Lisa - you also have it harder that you are cooking. There's NO WAY I could do the cooking here right now. If you have an occasional slip-up while you're cooking, that's completely understandable!

My husband is good about doing the cooking, so then it isn't as bad. I just felt bad that he has had to baby me so much the past couple of weeks and wanted to make something for him, ya know? And he has been making chicken strips and fries a lot, and the grease smell was making me gag, but I didn't have the heart to tell him since he was trying. He's in the Navy and worked a long day yesterday, so I was trying to be helpful. I'm paying for it, though. I think I over-did it trying to do laundry and picking up the house. I was so sore and achy that I couldn't sleep last night. My elbow (I'm right handed), my belly and my back were killing me!! I'm just not used to laying around and having others do stuff for me and it was driving me almost as batty as not being able to eat no-no foods! LOL Learned my lesson! The hard way.
